True, but its also a tool to get the NFL back to the negotiating table so they'll arbitrate to a reduced suspension.Have to think the Browns would just want it wrapped up though. Elliott got a couple injunctions and the process got dragged out because it had jurisdiction issues, but he just got suspended weeks 9-14 instead of weeks 1-6. If Watson's looking at a 12+ game suspension, you'd think they wouldn't risk Watson missing 2023 games. Especially when the NFL has won the most recent appeals of suspensions (Brady, Elliott).
love that Rapsheet is like "i trust my source" on this
the ravens arent leaking that shit, JK's agent isnt leaking that shit and JK himself clearly didnt leak that shit - so best bet for rapsheet is that the source is some trainer who's worked with him this offseason...
Likely. I'll be in the minority, but until I see differently, I tend to actually side with the reporters on these things.
Like its great to hear from Dobbins, but until you show me you're out there at practice and working, I'm taking anything the actual athlete says with a grain of salt.
If Dobbins ain't out there next week, he looks bad. And he looks bad every single day after that he doesn't show up. And he's going to look extremely bad if he's not out there for week 1 either.
Right, but he's calling out a reporter for not asking him directly for the quote. And this would be one of the main reasons why reporters often don't go directly to players for info like this. Because the player is likely to give info that either isn't true at all, or just overtly optimistic.i mean he doesnt look bad - just misguided and emotional lol
given his statements i think it'd start looking a little fishy if he's not at least practicing before the 1st preseason game on the 12th of August based on the phrasing that he said he might not even start on PUP (suggesting there's still a high percentage chance that he will start on PUP)

The only thing Roman did wrong that game was not use Gus enough. Outside of that his gameplan and playcalling were perfectly fine, the players fucked up over and over.Mostly, yes. There's a handful of throws in that game that Lamar missed just because he's human and he missed. And he normally wouldn't miss them.
I think your gameplan can easily be fucked up by other factors other than the defense forcing you to be fucked up. Dropped passes is a great way to do that. Largely unforced turnovers is as well.
All hell breaks loose when you're not executing your gameplan at all, and you have to abandon it to do something you don't want to do. That's when all hell breaks loose. Some of that is the defense forcing you to do it, some of it is self-inflicted.
Regardless, it kind of doesn't matter why, because in either scenario, it's hard to argue that's on the OC. The OC's job is design a gameplan to win. He doesn't execute it.
totally agree on Gus Edwards. Ingram was injured and not effective, yet he was still being used. If I recall correctly, Edwards had 3 carries. The only thing Roman did wrong that game was not use Gus enough. Outside of that his gameplan and playcalling were perfectly fine, the players fucked up over and over.
That’s not to say that’s always the case, but in the titans game it was definitely the case
And he was looking really good in those 3 Carries toototally agree on Gus Edwards. Ingram was injured and not effective, yet he was still being used. If I recall correctly, Edwards had 3 carries.
Gus was always under used, never could figure out why.And he was looking really good in those 3 Carries too
Summary: He got that dog in him.
this is a really really great watch
and one little nugget towards the end about Kyle Hamilton - i really do think they're trying to give him the green dot and give him every opportunity to be that guy as a rookie straight away
i think you also see how invested Kyle was in the conversations with TJ where he was talking about the differences in organisations and how they go about certain things
just a really rich and good watch/listen - don't normally listen to player interviews or stuff like this in the offseason (studio 44 etc. is a case in point) because i find it a bit boring but this was super interesting (even though it wasnt always about the ravens)
and also... spoiler alert - it was TJ not Marlo who was responsible for the ipad thing

I mean... he's standing by his source. In those cases, I would almost guarantee his "source" is either a trainer who has worked with Dobbins, or somebody within the Ravens facility. These reports always leave me dubious. I wonder if we start a discussion with outlandish, heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend- type "rumors," where we just repost the chosen comment in a few different spots - like CBS or Yahoo Sports comment sections, if these goofs would pick it up as a story. Laughable.
You know what JK Dobbins' off-season assignment was - in addition to his rehab? "JK! if anyone writes a story that you're not progressing as well as expected, tell them you are too and even better. And, if they write a story that you're making fabulous strides toward recovery, you let 'em know you're still having some pain but working through it and hope to be ready.
I think it's actually in the playbook.
Yeah, I agree, but don't you think when stories like this appear abruptly that there's potentially some gamesmanship - a'la, Bill Belichik listing nearly the whole team as questionable? And the reverse of gamesmanship on the media's side would be trolling. I mean it's like a story suddenly appearing that Lamar is working on a new ball grip - I just made that up, but you get my point. There's really no way to identify a "source" to that, but it would grow legs of its own if a tweet like that were posted.I mean... he's standing by his source. If I were Dobbins, I'd say nothing. He loses either way.
I don't think its abrupt. We're a week from training camp beginning, and your star RB hasn't been on the field in almost a year. This would seem to be a good time to put out a status update, would it not?Yeah, I agree, but don't you think when stories like this appear abruptly that there's potentially some gamesmanship - a'la, Bill Belichik listing nearly the whole team as questionable?
