The 2022 Offseason Thread

@rossihunter2 from what I’ve watched of Michigan’s defense it looks like you’re gonna get your wish of simulated pressure, and I’ll get my wish of more organic pass rush and the blitz is usually only one extra rusher.

Looks like Michigan wants you to think a blitz will come on every snap, and it does come a fair amount, but it’s not leaned on consistently and there aren’t giant voids right in front of the qbs face with 6 and 7 man rushes. Qbs aren’t on their hot reads on a lot of the slot blitzes and it makes them successful often. I’m really excited to see bowser in this scheme, Michigan doesn’t have a comparable player but if macdonalds blitzes work out in Baltimore then bowser could find himself getting his hands on a lot of passes
 
I'm just curious... are we getting MacDonald's hot and fresh French fries, or MacDonald's soggy and cold French fries?

say whatever you want, but McDonalds fries are the best fast food fries of all the fast food chains. I will not be swayed otherwise.
 
In essence Macdonald is an internal hire that spent a year on a detail to learn more about being the MFWIC. I wouldn't doubt this was planned out prior to this year, maybe not the timing but the idea of him coming back to the team as DC. Feeling really good about this move.

I love the saltiness and crunch of BK's fries too... and the Waffle fries at Chick Fil A are on time
 
Marlons role needs to be re worked in macdonalds defense, i wanna see him being used similar to daxton hill, we would need to add a corner to pull it off but man I think marlo would absolutely crush that role, and I think it would be the way to allow your best defender to have the most possible influence on the game, he’s an extremely versatile defender and I hate seeing us use him exclusively in man coverage on the boundary

then again from what ive seen so far this draft is a little weak at the very top so who knows - feel like some grades are gonna be all over the place

For whatever it's worth and it's worth literally nothing, Bucky has him going at 20 to the Steelers and Walter has him going 27 to the Bucs.

Omg I never thought I’d see you of all people suggest that marlon should play sTrOnG sAfEtY

idk that that kind of rule suits marlon tbh - I wonder if we’ll see more zone concepts - think both MP and marlon could really thrive with the ability to play with more eyes on the QB especially with Marlon’s burst and MP’s instincts

And DJ has him at 13 to the browns
He’s only gonna move up as this process continues as long as he tests well - won’t have been on some media scouts radars before the playoffs because he doesn’t get many opportunities to rush from wider alignments

Monday is when we know about Roman’s fate. I’m 100% certain he’s staying though. Would have been announced already unless they were too busy getting the DC position filled

Interesting late night news drop lol. But glad it’s officially Mikey Mac. By all accounts, it sounds like he embraces some of the concepts we’ve seen from Wink (e.g. disguise) but also supports a more modern defense and letting players win battles instead of constantly scheming pressure. As much as we love DBs, this just feels like it’s going to be a very trench heavy draft and off-season as a whole.
