Well the two biggest problems I see are:
1. He's more of a prototype 4-3 DE, so I don't know how well he would transition to being a 3-4 OLB. Unless we're planning a significant schematic change, this might not be the best transition.
2. Price-wise, the base salary is dirt cheap at $1.4M. Biggest issue by far is that he's due a $18.5M roster bonus a month from now. Ravens can't afford that, or at least can't afford it without restructuring him (likely needing an extension to do it).

Nah he's another compiler/guesser that throws shit at the wall and sees what sticks. He maintained that we were going to sign Frank Gore last year all offseason. And I think it was Tavon Austin before that.
 
I really, REALLY hope we’re able to keep project pat. I firmly believe that man could be a key cog not only to Roman’s offense, but our offense in general. He’s such an identity piece on the team and he actually really presents problems for defenses. He’s an extremely underrated player and it’s all because he’s a fb

Each year he has a Maryland/Virginia born guy as a Ravens target.

You can usually tell by who he tags whether he's getting the info from an actual "source" (which is really just him retweeting what somebody else wrote) or if he's just literally making a "rumor".

He's never once referenced an actual source or defended any of his takes. So basically, don't read anything he says. He never has any info that other more reputable sources don't publish long before he does.

not a ton - think medlin had apparently been looking to step down somewhat anyway - but it's also possible that the ravens identified an area for improvement given the injuries this year (both Harbs and EDC talked about how they'd turn over every stone to try and see if there was anything they could identify that could help not let this happen again)

dixon won assistant athletic trainer of the year from the pro football athletic trainers society in 2021 so there's that too

even with all those injuries on the Titans team. Here's hoping for the best. go ravens and glad Harbaugh is checking "most" of the boxes.
 


nice promotion for anthony weaver - probably a decent pay bump too - id imagine it's a bit of an olive branch to him given that there's not much pathway for promotion in the organisation right now so a bit like david culley (and roman before him) he gets the additional responsibilities and title which could help him towards a coordinator role somewhere else (or even a HC job)

i felt the same when I read this news. Feels like we wanted to keep him here and happy, but he was really gunning for that DC spot. Maybe everyone knew that job was already going to go to MacDonald and the promotion to asst. HC is an olive branch. This is all my guess though.

he's clearly on the path back to DC, he was one of the favourites here behind MacDonald (and despite Hewitt seemingly having been thought of as the heir apparent after MacDonald, managed to supersede him) - and he also interviewed elsewhere for DC too

id imagine if this year goes well he's probably gone next year because there just isnt anywhere to go here and he's a well-thought of, still young (in coaching terms) DC candidate who's well respected by players and coaches alike
 
For Weaver's promotion it might also be setting him up to be MacDonald's successor. Macdonald is a fairly young DC building a good reputation. A couple good seasons and he could be a HC somewhere else if he wants to be. Give Weaver a nice raise to keep him in house so he gets the spot if MacDonald leaves.

and I believe that would give us 2 3rd round comp picks or would it since he's not exactly a coordinator
