Why don't we get positive on this forum and look at the multitude of ways that Lamar can transcend the sport of football into becoming a world superstar? I'm talking about Ronaldo, Messi, Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, Tiger, MJ, Kobe, and LeBron-level superstardom. I genuinely believe he will be in that category in a few years.

Tanking doesn't really work in the NFL. Generational QBs are the only things worth tanking for, and they're few and far between.
NBA is completely different, because there's only five guys on the court per team at once and a single high profile superstar can turn the franchise around.

On the transition from college to the NFL: "I was talking to Daelin Hayes and I thought I didn't have a good day at practice. I was like, 'Damn, I should've practiced better.' Daelin was like, 'Everybody at this level is good. You're going to get done up in practice a few times. You're not going to be perfect in practice every day. Dudes in the league get beat on a weekly basis. You have to understand where you're at and try to fix the mistakes that you made.' Lamar shows up and hasn't missed a beat. You see in person, up close, a top five quarterback in the NFL, he can really spin it —arm angles, and then obviously when he gets out of the pocket, it's over with. You see how precise you have to be on defense."

Attorney Tony Buzbee said all but four lawsuits against Deshaun Watson have been settled.
Buzbee has represented dozens of women bringing sexual assault charges against Watson for more than a year. Buzbee said attorneys are "working through paperwork" related to the four outstanding suits against Watson, who did not play in 2021 and could face a lengthy suspension in 2022. Buzbee indicated the other four lawsuits would eventually be settled, adding that the terms of the settlements with Watson would remain confidential. This marks a major turning point in the Watson saga, as there was some question as to whether he could suit up for the Browns with lawsuits pending. We could see Watson, the league's highest paid player, on the field this fall or winter.RELATED:

I still doubt he plays this year.
I remember reading about these settlements and the handful of accusers who did not want to settle a little while ago. It sounded like Watson's team wanted to settle all of them at once or not at all. So it's interesting to see that they went ahead and settled the ones they could. Perhaps they didn't want to to reach 25 outstanding suits lol??
This changed from "I will clear my name of these false accusations in court no matter what" pretty fast
It dnt matter if he wouldve cleared his name… it dnt matter if it was just 1 accusation… shit stick with you forever if you did it or not

Deshaun so desperate to play football rather own up to what he did so he decided to pay them off. It's 2022 and paying off victims to shut them up or prevent going to jail isn't banned in the US. These Women deserve justice, not a payday while Watson still gets to play Football on TV every week. Sickening.

Well there were no criminal charges, so he was never going to jail anyway. Monetary settlements through civil lawsuits is basically the only result that was ever going to occur. The fact that there are settlements isn't surprising, because that's where this has been headed since basically day one. I'm just personally surprised it happened so quickly.
I could argue and see both sides of the criminal vs civil side of things. On the one hand, if what he's accused of doing is true, he deserves prison time for it. And that's somewhat an act of "justice". On the other hand, him going to prison probably doesn't do much for the victims. In some of these cases, financial "justice" is about the only thing a victim can hope for. If nothing else, I would suspect the monetary settlements would be sufficient enough, in some cases at least, to get the victims through therapy and whatever issues they may or may not be dealing with.
Really just depends on the individual situations and how they process what happened.
I hope Watson knows that the Massage Parlors in Cleveland aren't as good as the Massage Parlors in Houston.
I'm sure it had everything to do with the Browns forcing him to settle so that his suspension is handled sooner. Not sure how long these other 4 cases hang around. Public opinion is what it is, but it would be preferable to have a thorough inquiry since, like you said, it's going to be stuck with him.
