Great pick in Diesch. He was the one I've been waffling on picking since the beginning of this round. Rock solid tape. Just kept coming back to issues with arm length and him being 25 to begin the season. That aside, he'll either be a good swing tackle or a starting one.
Thanks-I was happy that he fell to Tampa Bay. I feel that after having made five picks (WR Jameson Williams, CB Kyler Gordon, DT Logan Hall, OL Sean Rhyan and now OL Diesch), Tampa Bay might have five guys that could all start in the NFL. Of course, the O-Line already has some very good starters in front of them.

Each of the five do have a starter ceiling. I would see Diesch having a slightly more uphill battle in Tampa Bay specifically. They are perhaps the heaviest gap-oriented offense in the league, and Diesch feels almost exclusively built for zone given his stellar athleticism but lack of pop and length. That said, he should still have his chance.

Time to see if @rossihunter2 ’s day 2 grade made it to him

I've been waiting for this as well. Hopefully he did.

really late bloomer - came on strong at the end of the season... has gone under the radar in media circles because he was only at the east-west shrine game and hasnt been at the rest of the circuit - but you'd still expect an SEC starting DL to have a bit more of a circus around him lol

3tech with 1 gap-2 gap versatility - explosive athlete and can bend - has the ability to anchor vs double-teams

Attacks OL in the passing game with a plan – loves to rip and use his upper body flexibility to dip and bend around those interior linemen – doesn’t have many counters but wins in the secondary part of the rush with effort – could be deadly if he worked off his power in the passing game a bit more often because he flashes the ability to bull and transition (but didn’t attempt often enough for my liking) – could make massive strides as a rusher if he improved his counters

was awesome against bama

genuinely stunned that ive not seen him rated highly anywhere except by lance zierlein (the reason i found him in the first place) - im guessing everyone wrote him off as an also-ran and then his play-level just clicked for him but after lots of media people had moved on... it's the only explanation ive got

For what it's worth, I've seen him just outside of the Top 100 in another place, so he was on my radar as well. Just didn't have a need at DT with either team, but he's worth the pick up.

Also, the 49ers are looking to trade back from 4.29 into the 5th, pick up an extra pick in the process. I'll be around for the PMs.

Surprised but also not surprised. I gave him a 4th but admittedly he's one of many that was a quick study more than a true eval. Just couldn't shake the JAG-ness in my head but he might be worth revisiting with the late bloomer aspect in mind.

got mauled by georgia in the running game but also was still impactful in the passing game and made plays as a pass rusher
i watched him dominate bama's IOL and he was unblockable vs Ole Miss

if you can find either of those games (and havent watched them already) id definitely recommend if your interested about why i like him so much

i think something just clicked for him about 4 or 5 weeks into this season and he blossomed and suddenly became a problem

When I drafted Nicholas Petit-Frere my other option was Luke Goedeke. I'm happy to have him slide to the bottom of the 4th round. I had a very good trade offer on the table but knew he was going after the same player. Chances are that if I traded back, my backup option would be taken as well. It was a tough choice to turn down the trade, but I have so many picks available I decided to turn it down.

Yup I knew that’s who it was

The 49ers are on the clock with 4.29 and will be around for offers for this pick. Message me if you want it.

The trade circuit for all my teams looking to move up...

Cardinals: 6.4 and 6.26 (should be the equivalent of a mid 5th)

Browns: 5.29 and 6.14 (should be the equivalent of a very early 5th)

Commanders: 5.32 and ED Benson Mayowa or Brennan Scarlett (both 0.5 stars) to get as far as I can

I was 50/50 between him and Zachary Carter at my pick. I don't have the patience or knowledge to be able to compare film of them lol
