2018 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

So I have the 4th pick for the teams it says it starts Friday at noon and says I have 12 hours to pick which team I want I guess I’m slightly confused by that because what if I don’t get around to responding until 11pm does that hold the other 28 up I guess I’m just slightly confused by it? Maybe it’s a dumb question my bad if it is lol

@Ice Bowl gets to pick first at noon and has 12 hours to pick his Packers (unless he decides to juke everyone and pick the Bears). Once he's picked @allblackraven has 12 hours to pick. If he doesn't pick within the 12 hours he gets skipped and it moves to @Somerset Ravens, who has 12 hours to pick a side. And so on.

The hope is that people develop a "board" essentially of the teams they'd like and pass it on to another member via PM to post on their behalf. If you know you won't be around, start thinking about teams you want now and have someone else post your pick for you.

Rules:

Simba gets first team choice by default
Simba gets the "force trade" feature from Madden
Simba gets his pick of any 10 free agents at 0.5 stars each prior to the beginning of free agency
Simba owns the entire first round of draft picks

End of rules.

You forgot one rule...

Simba can only pick between 2 teams. The Steelers or the Patriots. Thus setting a chain reaction out of nowhere retirement by those players. Choose Wisely.

This makes perfect sense I understand now I’ll be paying attention so it won’t be a problem thank you for clarifying

jfc that's a lot to take in lol
It's not as bad as it seems. Once you do it a couple times it gets pretty easy. Just check in with some people who have played the game before. I've played forum mocks on other sites and this is by far the best on the net.

A complete side note. This isn't as much of a regulation as it is a courtesy so it won't be listed in the rule thread, but we generally refrain from publicly mentioning players, teams and prospects before they are selected so as to not draw attention to them. Just a general point to make that isn't aimed at anyone in particular.

I'll take the Baltimore Brigade before I take one of those teams... Maybe.

I have a question...... When exactly do the Rosters Lock per say? Spotrac already lists Alex Smith on the Redskins roster at a cap hit of $17M, since this trade is unofficial until March 14th, how do we handle that here? Is Alex Smith still a Chief and not on the Redskins roster and it is up to whoever has the Skins and Chiefs to make that same trade? At the same time if the Chiefs Owner want to listen to other offers for Alex or whoever has the Redskins doesn't want Alex Smith then simply it's just don't make the trade and they keep the third and the player that was sent over for him?

We are in discussions on how to handle this and will get back to you. Roster lock will be shortly after all teams are selected. We will give you a definitive answer on this.

For everyone new to the game. If a player is cut after the roster lock, that doesn’t affect your team at all. He is still part of your team and your available cap space stays the same, unless you cut him on your own.
