Not quite - if you know you won't be around, the best practice is to send the PM with your choice to someone else to make a pick on your behalf. There's absolutely no reason for a long delay right at the start.

This. Especially with the 1st overall selection and an obvious choice to boot. I can officially make the selection at noon tomorrow if needed be.

Unless I'm bad with the rules (I'm sure I will be despite my best efforts so sorry ahead of time) the teams get picked tomorrow and Ice Bowl basically is our Packers fan. The other 31 people I would say pick the home team but I think he goes,packers

Basically normally it's obvious but maybe less so for him

There's no specific format but yes - all under contract players have to be listed.
