2018 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

Seeing that trade block thread is also why I was cool with moving back now - seems like everyone wants to trade down lol

I feel like it was mostly that way last year too. Only reason I wanted to move up was to make it a little easier for me to scout since my time is limited. Although watch me end up trading back from #6 after I say that, haha.

I don't think I would have been able to get any higher for the package I was offering either way though. It just felt like good value for both sides at that point.

Hi there, gents. I've recently unearthed an issue with roster bonuses that could require significant changes to our calculations. Given how far we are into the process and how many moves would have been affected by the change, it's an issue that will likely be shelved until next season out of fairness for the processed moved. But the main issue has been with the fact that there's a dead cap difference between individual player pages on Spotrac for players with roster bonuses and the main roster pages. I do have a tentative idea to pitch for next season that will account for the bonuses. As it stands, however, for the sake of parity and consistency, please use the numbers from the 2018 Salary Cap pages and not the individual player pages. Thank you for your understanding.

shit, I literally just loaded up the website and saw a PM and realized this trade actually happened. wow, that's something lol.

Im curious..

What was going through your mind when you read my post...then obviously read the post I quoted because you spoke of Quinn...and then you were still oblivious to what was going on? Huh

I was wrapping things up at work to go home and thought it was in the trade offer thread and didn't realize that actually happened lol. The part about the hope that the Rams cut him irl was because I'd love the Ravens to sign a talent like that. My bad on the confusion, I wasn't trolling.

Which i realize doesn't entirely make a lot of sense either, but it's the sad truth.

The first bidding period is open. Please feel free to mention any errors or discrepancies if/when they are spotted. Also, make sure to read the rules in the FA thread in order to post your bids properly.

Just a note for the newbies on RFA bidding.

If you bid on one of the RFAs with a draft pick associated, you give up your original round pick. If you don't have the original pick, you give up the highest pick you own in that round. Feel free to correct me if that rule changed this year.

He’s a real life cap cut candidate and I wouldn’t be opposed to picking him up to be the deep threat. He’s one of the better ones in the game

Yep. Obviously paying him more than he's worth salary wise, but that's what you have to do in this game. As you said, he's still one of the better deep threats in the game. He isn't going to do much more than that, but that's cool with me. Defenses now have to respect Benjamin's speed on one side and Evans' size on the other.

I'll just keep him away from punt returns.
