I low-key hated you for that bid on McCarron. "Why does he need both?" was my initial thought. Obviously for insurance reasons. But as a bargain-bin shopper, I was disappointed.

i only threw it in there because he's a similar style qb to mariota and mariota always gets injured for a few games - i wouldnt ever have forgiven myself if i really built a roster where matt cassel was the backup to a qb who doesnt play 16 games a year...

and then i get a free qb coach in josh mccown too

McCown turned out to be better player than all the wannabe QBs he "coached" as a backup. Sucks as a coach, definitely.

maybe the problem was that he wasnt able to run the room because by all accounts he seems to be a very supportive guy for younger qbs - maybe the problem is that those guys were always trash and he couldnt turn them around

but i truly believe that if mccown didnt consistently get injured the whole time and knock himself out of games he'd have been given a ryan fitzpatrick type contract but would have actually done well for that team
