Linderbaum is not going to be an option
I dont think Karlaftis will be either

Penning might be an option

but... i think the worst case is a really good player is available at 14, they just might be a WR - that's really the worst case scenario and we'd still have a shot at a pretty amazing player

i think our worst case scenario has us able to select from all except 2 of these guys:

Andrew Booth
Trent McDuffie
Kaiir Elam
Drake London
Chris Olave
Garrett Wilson
Jameson Williams
Devin Lloyd
Daxton Hill
Trevor Penning

im happy with most of those guys at 14, if not enthused about all of them, but all it takes is 3 of these guys above to go ahead of 14 (or a QB or a random dude from out of nowhere)

and we get a shot at one of these guys...
Stingley
Sauce
KT
JJ
Hutch
Travon
Ekwonu
Neal
Cross
Hamilton
Davis
I hope the latter scenario comes to pass tonight!

They have. This shit is all for the show and tv ratings. There’s a reason why they put a stopped to teams with pick#1 from announcing their selection before the draft. Makes for better tv
Ain’t no way they take walker. I’m betting walker slides. He’s an absolute freakshow but he’s a project and I think that part of walker is being seriously overlooked at this point. If he was rumored to be in the 8-14 range that’s understandable, but man me and @rossihunter2 especially were real big on walker very early on, wondering how tf the media saw him as a round 2 guy, but I never thought what the media now thinks of him.

The thought of travon walker at 1 overall seems so ridiculous to me, and I’m not even that high on hutch lol.

I’m at full candy corn

I’m now in on mcduffie at 14. I think I like what he can bring here, he could really diversify our scheme and kick marlo inside where I think he’ll be all pro type dangerous, and we can play a lot of cover 3 with mcduffie, peters, and Williams, and with marlo to man up whoever you feel real secure in your blitz packages out of that and a lot of plays to be made

brugler had a good point about this - he was also "early" on walker
he basically said that the hype went off the rails when the coaches start watching the film - they see all the traits and the run defence and they probably fell in love with him in the interviews and suddenly the coaches are like this is the best guy in the whole class

and now the guys who were early... you, me, brugler, DJ (people who watch tape lol) suddenly seem low because our grades havent changed on him much since we first graded him

to me, he always looked like a top 5-7 type player but in a weaker class with no standout, top 3 feels ok to me... even top 1 feels justifiable, albeit i have no idea how you dont just take derek stingley at 1st overall lol and i do find it tough to justify throwing out KT's traits and also his production on top of it too but i do get that he and walker play 2 different positions in actuality with Walker more of a DE/Rush and KT is more of a 7t/3-4 OLB and maybe even a SAM in a 3-4

walker's 6th on my big board and EDGE 2 behind KT and stacked right on top of Hutch at 7 but the grades are close enough that i cant be mad at the jags if they take travon - he is one of my absolute favourite prospects in the class

2nd time he mention us as a team looking to trade up. Maaaaan if Kayvon start sliding, imma be clenching my butt. Knees weak, arms heavy.. hoping for the “ravens have traded up” notification flashing at the bottom of the tv.

this is the draft to do it if there ever was one - messy at the top in terms of draft order, no QBs to push elite prospects down the board, rare high pick

every other time we've been this high in the last 20 years we've either tried to trade up or traded up
2003, we tried to go up and get Leftwich (luckily we got Sizzle instead)
2006, we went up 1 spot to make sure we got Ngata
2008, we went down and then came back up to make sure we got Flacco
2016, we tried to trade up for Jalen Ramsey (Ronnie Stanley was a great fallback)

2017 and 2018 are really the only times we havent tried to move up when we had a somewhat high pick - 2017 we were always standing pat it seemed and 2018 we were always moving back as part of the plan to get Lamar later

notably, we've never been bitten in any of these trade up scenarios (whether we managed to go up or not) - we ended up with a great player

maybe we go up, maybe we dont, ravens dont usually trade up and give up picks - and yet... they've got form when you look back through the franchise's history (and we have the benefit of being able to take those lessons and draw conclusions from them because we've had the same front office and brain trust since 1996)

i feel you - and if that happens then we either take a stud like Drake London who we'd never normally get a chance at and just get stuck in with the AFC arms race on offence or we leverage that lack of receivers and see if we cant convince a team to come up and get ahead of the eagles before they take jameson williams at 15

but i see no way that we dont get at least 2 WRs off the board before 14 - the commanders for sure are taking a WR
Who takes Hamilton if not the commanders ?

IDK who the fuck we're drafting tonight, but I'm excited to see this play out

i think id be both more and less excited if we had a later pick

i cant wait for the carnage to play out early (or maybe itll be super boring)
but the fact that we're closer to that carnage makes me a little more nervous about all the top of the board machinations
