2023 General Draft Thoughts

JO_75

Hall of Famer
Jaxon Smith-Njigba from Ohio State, Dontay Demus Jr from Maryland, Jordan Addison from Pittsburgh, let's hope Pittsburgh doesn't try to reunite Pickett and Addison. At the moment, it seems like we would be targeting receivers in the first round. Assuming we win the Super Bowl, the Lions went from 32 and moved to 12 and didn't give up that much to do so. I know it isn't our philophosy but it wouldn't hurt to do what the Falcons did in 2011 when they traded for Julio Jones.

Demani Richardson, S is going to be a 1st if not early 2nd round prospect. We are already stacked at safety and don't need him, but wanted to put this out there.

Somewhat on topic, but here's a way too early mockdraft from last year for the 2022 draft, just as a quick show of how much can change in a short bit of time:

Green Bay would have been a good place for Wydermyer.

I like Michael Mayer TE Notre Dame a lot, but hopefully our picks this year turn out great and we won't need to touch TE again for a bit.

For some positions of need:

Emil Ekiyor: Looks like an absolute beast at guard. Would be a big upgrade at LG.
Trenton Simpson: Lighter, leaner LB built in a similar mold as Queen, but I think he shows better instincts in coverage. Would let us have multiple ILBs capable of covering and chasing down plays from behind.
Dontay Demus: Big, fast, and just firey as hell. I legit think he could be something special, and fits the Ravens' attitude perfectly.
