Lamar Jackson

He’s not practicing again today. He’s not gonna be the Lamar we know until next season.
Harbs said its a non-injury related rest day. I think earlier in the year the injury concerns were obviously legitimate. I don't think people can really keep using the same "he must be hurt" concepts week in and week out. He's healthy enough to play, and he's healthy enough to practice. By NFL standards, he's as healthy as it gets at this point in the same. There's probably hundreds of guys playing every week with injuries worse than his. And playing well too.

So are you saying that Lamar has regressed this year(TRUE) and is his way down in terms of performance.

Have we seen his peak years already and he is on the decline?

idk i think until this steelers game you could clearly see he looked hurt still

but this steelers game he looked explosive again and mechanically back in rhythm

I think it's fair to say Lamar is healthy enough to practice and play, but also still hampered by injury. Although, I will say, the Bengals game and certainly the Steelers started to show more of the Lamar we've come to know, so I'm thinking he's finally getting as healthy as he will be for the season.

LAmar did things in PIT & CIN that I hadn't seen since he went down. I definitely think he could be returning to form, which is good timing if he is as we are getting to the do or die moment of the season. If he gets healthy for playoffs and we make it, we could really blow through things.

Right, I'm just saying that virtually no players in the league "get a pass" for playing through injuries. His injuries aren't significant enough where he's not practicing much, or that he can't like actually play the position well. Beyond that, I don't really care if he's "banged up" or not. This time of year, virtually everybody is.

There's guys on our team who will be having surgery the week after the season ends for injuries they occurred months ago and we don't even know about. Happens every year.

i mean it's a lower body injury - it will have manifestly affected him
not saying you get a pass - but players can suffer significant injuries that they can play through more easily (as long as they can manage the pain) because that injury isn't as "important" to the mechanics of his position

a QB's lower body is almost as important as his arm and hand in terms of throwing mechanics and generating power - and with lamar obviously it impacts as well in terms of the scrambling and QB run game

and frequently people use injuries to excuse players dropping their level in any given season

Bakers last year with the Browns he had a terrible year and it's because he played through an injury.

That was the worst decision he could have made for himself with the Browns.

I don't pretend to understand the whole saga surrounding the Browns at the time, but letting Baker go and then claiming they "wanted an adult in the room" after Baker played through an injury that should have ended his season, only to trade for Deshaun Watson who had known sexual assault allegations was... woof.

The Browns went from lovable losers for many fans to just losers.
