Lamar Jackson

What time does practice happen today? This is it man, gonna be stressful until that tweet
it is it. I honestly believe that if he doesn't play and he REPORTEDLY FROM NUMEROUS SOURCES continues to ask for a fully guaranteed contract,he will be traded to some sucker who will give him one. I suspect the Colts are one sucker that comes to mind among others.

I can't wait until he is extended so all you suckers who believe he wants a fully guaranteed contract can realize how much you were suckered.

Lamar nor the Ravens have released any information on negotiations or contract details.

I hope you are right but if you are it would mean every news organization that has reported on Lamar is wrong. Well we will see.

yes, but at the time of the negotiations, the Josh Allen contract was already one year removed.
That doesn't mean we need to exceed it based on timing. Lamar and Allen have had similar success. The argument can be made Josh has had more based on his playoff performances. Don't see a justification to give Lamar significantly more money than Josh.

The possibilities exist that Lamar will realize the error of his ways and settle on a reasonable(relative to top QBs) contract. There would be no way of knowing his original asking price. As you say, its been a tight lipped negotiation.

very rare for a contract to be the same based if they are completed in the future. The same contract would actually be lower if you are considering % of cap and players are always looking to exceed previous contracts in one capacity or another.

Sucks to hear this but hopefully everyone gives it a rest on their “he doesn’t want to play here anymore” hot takes. If only we could be so lucky
I think its just the opposite. Lamar quiet quitting and milking the knee injury crowd is going to get louder. This is why I don't want shiton ESPN

I love Fox so much lol @2:40

Sources come from one of two places: owners or players. In this case it’s likely a front office source leaking considering it makes Lamar look bad. I have seen enough of these stories that it is usually pretty easy to tell who the source is.

Meanwhile, considering Lamar got hurt again, even if the deal is not fully guaranteed the narrative will be that Lamar conceded that after the injury in his second straight season.

You don't need to explain to me where sources come from. That being said, I don't believe the FO is leaking any information, nor do I believe Lamar is leaking any info. It's kind of obvious, with all the conflicting information. I also don't see the front office making Lamar look bad, but. coming from you, I can understand why you think this. We shall see.

I think Lamar really hurt his value.

He's proven that he can't be trusted long term. And before anyone comes at me, it only took 2 injuries back to back for people to say the same thing about Bateman.

Both times Lamar's been knocked out they've been on routine QB hits and that's actually a bad thing. Additionally, both came in about exactly the same time in the season too.

Let's consider some of the relevant factors. Lamar tried to bulk up to be durable over the course of the season. Although he told the media that he wanted to do it, Rapsheet told McAfee the Ravens told him to do it. Even with the added muscle, Lamar has shown his body can't take an entire season of NFL punishment.

Every year he's played, he's had issues with either nagging injuries truly up and down his whole body simultaneously and always has a real problem with getting sick.

With respect to the two injuries that have knocked him out, he's shown an inability to heal on the expected time lines. This one is really strange. I saw Cappa from the Bengals leg get literally snapped in half under the weight of Urban and get carted off. Nonetheless, no boot, cast, or whatever and dude is trying to play this week. Lamar is legitimately still hurt and that's the problem.

If there was one thing that could derail Lamar Jackson's career, it would be the accumulation of injuries. So far he's been fortunate to avoid major surgeries, but he's missed a lot of football. And I don't really see how anyone can be confident he won't miss a lot more. The hits that have taken him out have been neither big or freaky. Those shots WILL happen every year it's unavoidable.

All that being said, availability is huge. It's actually the number one most important thing. Lamar is ultra talented and deserves a big contract unambiguously. That being said, he's not earned the right to a fully guaranteed big contract. There's just no way. He has neither the playoff success nor the regular season durability to warrant it.

Lamar you took a risk. You proved that we're nothing without you and you're worth a lot of value. You also failed to stay healthy again have not been helped your playoff legacy because of it.

Get your head out of your ass and sign the deal your worth without the full guarantees. Your selfishness in this issue affects many beyond yourself.
Absolutely disagree.

Injuries happen. He did not get injured walking, he got hit.

Lamar asking for fully guaranteed deal is a speculation, not a fact.

The only fact we have is that he decided to play like a man, without his future secured. Not only that, he decided to do this without his LT, both RBs for the second year running and WR room made up of one receiver plus Duvernay, Proche, Wallace and DRob. And he made it work.

With Lamar we win, despite being trash.

I mean there is not really any conflict. Pretty much every story on the Lamar contract is saying he wants a fully guaranteed deal. There has to be a source on that and the only logical one to me is the team with my logic being: they are the only ones who would want that story out there and Lamar does not seem like the type of person to use the media to leverage a deal, but would rather use his play for that.

I don’t know what you mean by “from me”, I just assume you have some very incorrect notion about me that you are for some reason afraid to say outright, but I think Lamar wants to get the most money he can and the team wants to save as much as they can while keeping him happy. This is the standard boss/employee relationship and I think outside of the media reporting on it there is nothing either side is doing that is unusual or wrong.
