Lamar Jackson

Only problem there is, it only takes one team to say fuck it we got the roster to compete, and offer up, and if that’s a team that likes to trade their first rounders then we’re big fucked.
There aren't many teams like that. Jets are on that list, but they seem to be infatuated with Lamar.
Dolphins would be on that list, except they don't have a first rounder to give up.

I gotta say, I’m a little saddened by the mental image of Lamar punching air every time he reads a tweet that X team is out on him

Hopefully all of these are true, but man it’s hard to believe that all these teams are out on Lamar immediately.

IF this plays out this way though, and Lamar tests the market and then comes back here on a more manageable deal, then I’m gonna need to see some acknowledgement of EDC’s thousand pound brass balls
I can guarantee you this... IF the organization pulls this off (and its a big if), and the market for Lamar is much smaller than we think that he basically ends up on whatever deal we last offered him, I think there's a large contingent of the fanbase that need to sit on a massive cock for awhile.

Long way to go, though.

Jets are one of the ones that worry me.

Idk shit about non exclusive rules so idk the protocol for a team who might have the cap space but no 1s

Maybe.
I'm also not opposed to any deal that involves us getting the #1 overall pick plus another first rounder in 2024. That's obviously something I can live with as a good option if we can't make a deal.
I brought the bears up several days ago. I see them as a bigger threat than Miami. Not sure Lamar would agree to going there but I think money talks

I'd gladly lube up and take that cock if it means we get Lamar long term

They'd need to wait until after the draft to offer him... aka hold a bunch of cap open on the off chance that he accepts the offer

It only takes one team and if any of the teams miss the QB they want early in the draft, the Ravens phone is ringing.

I just posted about not being a fan of EDC the other day. Not having already signed Lamar I still believe was a big blunder.

That being said, we have to see how this goes, but I think that nonexclusive tag was the first step towards fixing this situation.

He'll be praised enormously if he pulls this off

I asked online. Was told by a couple cap experts that teams that don't currently have a 1st round pick in 2023 can't sign an offer sheet until they either get one, or until after the draft, meaning '24/'25 picks.

Was also told the "floor" for trade comp is two 1sts. Doesn't have to be the ceiling.
