Lamar Jackson

Lol, go back and check the teams we played at the end of last season, when we started winning games.

We didn’t have the personnel to challenge great defenses which I’d argue right now we still don’t. Even Aaron Rodgers struggles o think against he Vikings, Bears defenses and Jacksonville wrecked us for sure, it was early on and in London.

You were talking about the 2nd half of the year when we got on our winning streak. Sure we won some games with decent offense, but the teams we were playing were week and many against backup QBs. I’m not talking about the Jags and Bears. Joe has been avg to worse then average since 2013 outside of the Kubiak year. I don’t hate Joe, but it’s time for a change.

Btw, the posters you are debating with understand everything you say they don’t understand.

Joe doesn’t play against backup quarterbacks , he plays against the defense. In most of those games we scored plenty high so I don’t see what point you are trying to make.

He has played in mediocre offenses with mediocre or terrible playcalling and he’s had health issues too. For health issues alone it might be time to move on but that’s a different point.

I’m aware of that but the defenses we played were horrid. We wouldn’t have scored as much and he offense with the starting qb could have made those games more competitive and I doubt we win all those games. Quit being such a homer.

Nope but he had something better, 4 games in a two to lead us to a Super Bowl. I’ll take that over an MVP season every time.

4 games of quality QB play is not better then a full season of quality QB play.

I’m not being a homer. The offense DID play better the second half of the season, and this whole “well if this and this and this” game isn’t really important. We don’t know what exactly would have happened if those things had happened but we did see Joe and the offense playing better period, we’ve seen the offense struggle against bad defenses after all.

So how about Lamar Jackson? Will he be equal to or better than Tyrod? Tyrod has a lot of accuracy issues IIRC and he cleaned it up so I’m hopeful so can Lamar

So Eli should never be challenged cause he's done that twice?

Eli and Joe aren’t comparable in their regular season performance or post season stats. I’m not saying Joe should never be challenged either, I’m just disagreeing with the specific challenges being made to the extent they are being made.

You guys know there’s a Joe Flacco thread right? Might be good to go there to post your Joe Flacco vs Other QB discussion

When it’s in the playoffs and results in a Super Bowl win, yes it is. Especially when it’s a record setting performance.
well he had a couple good games this season as well and the rest, well MOST know the story, hence we are sitting at 5-5....AGAIN

and when you say Flacco is top 10-12, you are definitely being a homer.

Idk. Hopefully yes, but he also needs to hit the weight room and work on arm strength in my opinion.

arm strength is not an issue, watch a little of his tape and you will notice that. He can fling it. He may not have Flacco's arm strength, but not many do and you don't need it to win in this league.

He needs to hit the weight room for sure if they’re going to run him and for him to survive in general. I don’t want him to gain too much and make him slower but enough to absorb hits in and out of the pocket. Arm strength? I feel like he has the arm strength—he just isn’t or wasn’t very accurate throwing deep. I’ll go back and look though maybe I’m wrong

Except playing in Baltimore where it gets pretty windy you need zip on he balls going more than 5-10 yards down the field. I’m not saying he needs to match Joe in arm strength. He needs to bulk up though and not just for arm strength but also durability.
