Lamar Jackson

Lamar is a special ,very talented player. Tom Brady knows talent when he sees it so that's why he commented on Twitter that Lamar is the next man up. Lamar will take this challenge.
That being said ,no QB including Mahomes,Burrow ,Rodgers, etc. would have done well this year with the Ravens offensive line.
How many points did Mahomes score in the Super Bowl with a injured offensive line? Yeah 9 friggin points and he is the best QB in the league period.
Decosta must get Lamar offensive line help or we will see a repeat of this year. AV gotta go. We need a solid LG ,an alternative to Ronnie if he's done and I even think we can improve on Bozeman if he leaves in free agency. Zeitler and Mekari look fine on the right side.

Looking at some game film and man....Greg Roman really doesn't offer much in the passing game. Irregardless of the personnel you need to have better creativity than having two players both run mesh patterns or slants. Now it's becoming apparent that part of the reason why Lamar held the ball on so long was because there were too many players in one occupied space. Harbaugh chalked it up to players not knowing what route to run or getting the play wrong but....it's a consistent problem throughout the season that was never addressed. How do you not address that? The lack of spacing in this pacing game was an atrocity. Even with the passing game making strides, I firmly believe that things could have been much better even given the injuries if the spacing was just better. This gives me shades of 2019 when Willie Snead and Myles Boykin ran into each other that Titans game. Unfortunately I don't think Harbaugh could justify letting go of two coordinators so it was Wink who got axed, either way this is do or die for Greg Roman. If the passing game still has similar issues then he should absolutely not return, in fact he shouldn't finish the season.

They seriously need to fix this.

Always risk of injury. I think the difference here is Ronnie played consistently well game after game for 5 years and missed minimal time. He rolled the dice on the 5th year option, was a top LT and won the bet on merit, not on potential. Huge bummer he got hurt and hopefully he comes back strong.
Exactly, also you just cannot let an All Pro tackle walk out the door. The Ravens paid him and rightfully so, obviously they did not see him getting injured in their future plans but when you have a player that great at a premium position then you really have no choice but to pay him.

You get it. Nobody comes close to Lamar Jackson in sheer talent and ability to take over the game any which way. Protect him like the other successful QBs are protected and he's essentially unbeatable.

How is it that all of Roman's offenses had the same issues over the years and still haven't been fixed?
At some point you've got to realize it's the OC and not the players. We've literally had the best rushing attack in history yet we failed to win even one playoff game.
2018 and 2020 as well. When it mattered our offense couldn't do s... and Roman's play calls didn't help to ignite our offense again.
Why do you think he'll be able to fix these issues when he's proven he won't. Didn't we say the same stuff last year and in the end we all agreed to give him another year?

I think there’s one reason the issues can be fixed, Lamar Jackson. He’s got the pull on this team to improvise and have his teammates improvise with him, and I think that’s actually a fairy large component of the offense, that may end up being the difference maker between the ravens and all of Roman’s other teams, can’t do it without an offensive line and those improv plays can’t be the entire gameplan so they need the run game to round it out.

I’m down with another year of fine tuning, as long as we really make a big effort to address the OL, by any means. With pass pro and a run game, i think if Lamar and his chemistry with the guys are clicking, we’re unstoppable. Just like suddenly in the playoffs in 2013 we had chemistry clicking just at the right time and went on a run, and it was pass protection that sparked it on offense.

Lmfao not a single one of us here is surprised either. We’ve known damn well this was true we just never saw a stat to show how pissed he gets lol

it's like the colts game where he made a mistake and you just saw him sat alone absolutely seething on the bench and at that moment you just knew that 2nd half was gonna be wild lol

and then when we won the coin toss and you saw him saying "it's over" as he was putting his helmet on

i still think if he hadnt got concussed in the bills game last year - that he had a great opportunity to bring us back into the game - there was still more than a quarter left, we'd just driven the length of the field and lamar was gonna be angry and want to put the team on his back in that spot

and if it was ever in doubt how aggressive lamar wants to be - just look at the way he responds to harbs when he "asks" if lamar wants to go for it on 4th down, or the fact he rarely throws the ball away, or the average depth of target he has even despite the shoddy pass pro

Tyre phillips tanked that whole game for us, it was a shame, he whiffed on what would’ve been the TD pass had phillips just been a traffic cone at worst, then the following play(pick six) he had the clearest shot at a tackle and he didn’t even bother. Lamar was not playing a bad game, he had extended many plays, the run game was nonexistent, he moved well between the 20s, and had many key passes dropped.

Bruh bum ass Tyre SOLD. Plus, guys weren't getting open. I swear if motherf-uckers continue running into each other or running the same route in the same vicinity, I'm gonna lose my shit.

iirc it was jk dobbins who whiffed on the TD pass protection stuff - but i could be wrong

but that game went from potentially tied with a quarter left to 2 scores down and without our MVP QB in the space of 4 plays...

- missed TD
- pick-6
- incomplete pass
- bad snap + lamar concussion

obviously the offence didnt do great - but people always seem to forget (because they won) that the bills offence and josh allen also sucked... the weather was so massive in that game and hurt both QBs

Yeah it was a rough one, people also forget the wind took 9 points off the board for us too. That game was SO much closer than the score indicated, and even after Lamar went down Huntley was a slight overthrow away from making it a very interesting game in the fourth

People are so enamored with his run game abilities they are happy to choose ignorance with his shortcomings. It’s always the same conversation. “next year I expect him to figure out ……”
