Lamar Jackson

BTW, Lamar did call me late last night (when his mother was fast asleep) and in a whisper declared he was going to escape the clutches of his mom and show up for the 3rd OTA practice. I encouraged him to do so. Now, we can all just hope he is able to show up and win both the league MVP and SB MVP titles. It's his 5th year and now it's time to replicate his doppelganger in talent - MJ's feats.

We got Florio stirring up Lamar to the Dolphins today. Twitter running with it. Funny thing is, the poll is 50/50 lol. People rather keep tua, than trade for Lamar. Wild.

christ - florio really seems to have taken the tweet that was aimed at chris simms really personally for some reason...

dude is obsessed
He is a smart cookie. He knows talking about Lamar be it positively or negatively is going to generate humongous clicks for his nasty business. He is the ultimate definition of a sleazeball attorney, that was never really good at law practice but still figured out a way to use that degree to leverage himself into sports talk. Cunning mother sucker.

I think you are right, but...

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when EDC gets fishing calls from other teams about Lamar's potential availability. Of course, it's the time of year for trolling NFL stories, but I still subscribe to a bit of the, "Where there's smoke there might be fire." I don't think his year, but if there's not a deal done sometime this season or before he's likely franchised, these stories are going to increase and be potentially less of the click-bait form and more of the credible, "sources-are-saying" nature.

I think we do sign Lamar, for the record. But I will love reading about what other teams were offering for him. And if we don't sign him, I will be expecting some team to back up the Brinks truck.

I think the concern is designed runs vs him improvising
Right, but the point is, if he hates to run, why is he improvising and running?
We can talk about designed runs all day long, but there's also less of them when you have RBs that teams can't ignore. AND... that also requires Lamar to actually make the right read at the mesh point and give the ball up.

Well nobody has offered him anything yet, because they know he's not available. Any of the reports you've read of been of the "the guy isn't signed long term, so lets see what happens if he ever hits FA" kind of FO thoughts.
Which every team has about a lot of players, league-wide, every year.

you are probably right that no one has offered us anything, but you don't know this for sure unless someone from the front office told you.

Except you're never going to get those credible reports in Lamar's case. He doesn't have an agent and info on him is locked down from his camp. The team surely isn't going to leak anything if they're looking to trade him. So all Lamar trade rumors are going to be just that... rumors. There's a reason why no one knows what is going on with Lamar right now and that's why no one is saying anything credible. It's all assumptions and that's all it'll ever be unless (a) the Ravens purposefully leak something or (b) he gets an agent.
