Lamar Jackson

Everyone has to stop worrying about it. Lamar Jackson will be signed one way or another and at worst we will have one hell of a haul in draft picks. I'd rather have Lamar over the draft picks and so does Steve B, EDC, Harbaugh on down.
All in good fun as we pass the time until the Week 1 beat down we put on the Jets

Perhaps, but I just don't buy it yet. With the way WR contracts and QB contracts increased this year and the demand for guarantees increasing, something's gonna have to give even with payrolls above 250M because none of the contracts are going to get any cheaper.
But I guess I'm asking... why does anything have to give? When the salary cap is $250M, you'll routinely see $60M a year contracts for QBs most likely. I'm not even sure the argument can't be made that 25% of the cap for the QB position is too much. You can certainly be competitive with it at the very least.

With WR contracts, you've already seen how some teams react. Why did the Chiefs trade Hill? Why did the Texans trade Hopkins? Why did the Packers trade Adams?
Somebody will pay these guys, but it doesn't mean it's going to be the team that has the super high-priced QB. The Dolphins don't. The Cardinals didn't (and still don't really). The Raiders didn't either (and still don't really). By the time Carr and Murray are very expensive, Adams and Hopkins likely won't be on the team anymore.

All just depends on roster construction. Maybe some teams won't spend much on defense and constantly churn over younger players on rookie contracts. Not a terrible idea if they're producing. But teams with rookie QB contracts will likely continue to spend large money elsewhere.

Nobody reps Maryland harder than a marylander, we are obnoxious as fuck with our rep, we plaster the flag on every available surface

The takes in here are so much more grounded in reality and reason than r/ravens, who think Lamar is not worth the cap and hold on to the false notion that Flacco’s contract handcuffed the team. I still, and I mean it, I still cannot believe there are some that think we could roll with Huntley. Also, you trade Lamar for a hoard of picks and then what? You miss you’re screwed

The longer I’ve been away from MD the more it dawns on me how truly obnoxious Marylanders are with Maryland shit. Still makes me laugh at away games, regardless of sport, when you hear the loud “O” during the national anthem. Away fans always look confused as hell

Huntley is old news. Anthony Brown is Qb1 baby

Well we saw a disgruntled Hollywood and looked what happened. Now it appears Lamar is disgruntled or simply trying to increase
the Ravens contract offer. Only time will tell.

This is depressing, I wish we could just sign him. Imagine if Lamar won a super bowl with another team, would be pretty disgusting

Honestly this whole situation is just annoying more than anything. Literally no one will shut the fuck up about it in the media. Lamar stayed so strong about being quiet for so long and clearly you can tell from his recent tweets that he's annoyed by it too. I just wish it was over with so we don't have to hear about this anymore

If that's the case, negotiating on social media is not good/smart business.
It's not a good look but it works. Look at all of the other guys around the league that have done it and come out on top. He's applying pressure in the modern way.
