Lamar Jackson

As far as players, yes.. they bring the exposure to the teams.. however, you take two avg guys and the one that plays for the bigger market will get more exposure..

Look at zach martin vs marshal yanda.. although he was actually good, youd assume he was actually better than yanda the way media gave him so much exposure because he played for the cowboys.. there are really fans who dnt even know who yanda is
I mean OK, but what does exposure do? Does it get you paid more? In a salary cap league it does not. Is Martin like some commercial whore that I don't know about?

Star players thrive in any market.

Like if you want to go to a market just to get your name talked about on Twitter more, I guess that's fine. I would suspect most athletes would tell you they expect that to translate into more $ in their pockets, which I think would be a hard sell that it does.

Not to mention that a lot of players don't actually live in the cities they play in, or have multiple homes.

I swear bro. Mfs be coming at his neck for it all the time but I’ve grown to respect his persistence lol
He sucks me back in every time

Even if your name isnt talked about on twitter….kyle kuzma trash ass went to LA and got modeling deals along with a model gf… lebron, the worst actor ive ever seen was in space jam.. sure his greatness probably played a big role but im sure playing in LA helped or even made it easier for him to do so.. star players thrive in any market for sure but playing in bigger markets gets you outside deals and more connections…. I forgot lebron also started “ the shop” soon as he got to LA. Doubt that wouldve happened in clev.

Why wouldn't it? He doesn't need LA to star in a movie. He can just fly out there anytime he wants.
If Kyle Kuzma wants a modeling deal, he can get one anywhere. Tom Brady does modeling deals all over the world. He's spent his career in Boston and Tampa.

Tom brady wife was a model so he literally dnt count lol because he already had ties to it.. he couldve flew out there anytime yet it wasnt till he got in LA that he played in space jam and started up his own show. With kuzma, we will never know because he was in LA when the modeling started. Forget to mention kuzma was also in space jam lol.You wasnt wrong when you said that players can create a brand anywhere, because the great players actually can but going to a bigger market actually helps them achieve that.

and RMC brought up Baker doing national commercials, but Baker was the #1 pick in the draft and was already a name. Cleveland had nothing to do with this.

OK, but the point is that "markets" are becoming less relevant when pretty much anybody can become a national brand from literally any work location. And again, a lot of these people don't even live there.

We're long, long, long past the days of somebody needing to play or even live in LA, NY, etc. to be a movie star, or get major endorsement deals, etc.

And honestly, for NFL players, its pretty much never been about where they played. So many great, well known players never played an ounce of time in a big market. The Giants aren't a destination. Neither are the Jets. They struggle every year to get quality players to sign there. LA didn't have an NFL franchise for a long, long time, and now that they do, nobody even cheers for them. It's just a "social club" that goes to those games. Stadium is filled to the brim with visiting fans every week.

less relevant maybe. That being said other sports like MLB still have more money in advertising dollars and TV revenue going to larger markets, except maybe Baltimore who owns 77% of the rights to MASN, thanks to the terrible deal that Bud Selig made with Angelos.

Large market teams tend to sell for more also in all sports. It's not just about individual players.

Look what you said about LA lol.. thats what happens when you put a new team in a market such as LA.. they never had a team, yet its filled with visiting fans and its just a social club.. thats what happens when you have a great and appealing market such as LA has

too much to do in LA and there is a reason they lost this team in the first place.

appealing is very very subjective. LA sucks a fat dick

No, that's what happens when you have great weather all year round and famous people willing to piss away millions to live there. Same reason home crowds don't draw well in Miami or Tampa either.

City, yes. Some of the suburbs are outstanding.
Some of the surrounding areas are nice. When I lived in Ocean side I thought I would always be driving up to LA and hanging out on the weekends. I think it was 80 Miles but with traffic it always took three hours. I was shocked at how dirty it was as well the few times I went. But the real kicker for me was how rude people were... LA is just a strange lost world.

Years ago my family and I were staying in Dana Point, attending a family wedding in Long Beach. The kids kept bugging me wanting to see Hollywood, I tried to explain there really wasn't much to see and it was pretty much a dump. Finally relented, made the drive and they were like "wow, this is it?" It really is a shit hole.

Dana Point is beautiful would go back any time. My nephew lived in a few different places in Newport Beach, kinda neat to cruise the harbor there in the electric Duffy boats(You can BYOB. lol) and check out all of the mansions and yachts. He and his family now live in Costa Mesa.

Isn't there a base by Ocean side? Think my boy used to live out there. Also been to see family and for a wedding by Redondo Beach. Had different expectations but like Tank said understand people liking the suburbs. Hated the city traffic though but beautiful city. Had a hotel 5 minutes from the airport and took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to my terminal at night.
