Lamar Jackson

Isn't there a base by Ocean side? Think my boy used to live out there. Also been to see family and for a wedding by Redondo Beach. Had different expectations but like Tank said understand people liking the suburbs. Hated the city traffic though but beautiful city. Had a hotel 5 minutes from the airport and took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to my terminal at night.
Pendleton, the crown jewel of Marine Corps bases

Gomer Pyle's home. lol
Fun fact Gome Pyle was in Platoon 3092 in full metal jacket for the boot camp scenes. I was also in platoon 3092, 3rd Battalion, India Company for boot camp. Our drill instructor was convinced one of us would shoot him

Man the 49ers offense is so QB-friendly. I’d love to see Lamar in that kind of offense
Shanahan is arguably the best play designer in the NFL. It's between him and Reid. With both of them you'll see WRs running free through defenses. Sometimes without a defender within five yards of them.

I know, it's crazy. I remember when he was the OC for the Redskins back in 2011 and the QB was Rex Grossman. Even he looked good on some days. I wonder if there is anyone on Shanahan's staff who can call plays or McDaniels for that matter.

it's a shame that mcvay was the first of the young guys of that coaching tree to get the superbowl win because shanahan's the superior coach i think - was the only one of the 2 of them to solve the running game issues that popped up for both offences when defences adjusted to some of their inside zone stuff a few years ago

Huge if it’s true. We knew we could limp into the playoffs with Huntley, but it would be all for nothing if Lamar couldn’t come back.

I'm not sure I want Lamar to come back and drag this stagnant regime into the playoffs. I think coaching changes are the most important thing we could get out of this season.

Watching Burrow direct the offense is impressive. You can tell he is in complete control and reading the defense well. Lamar will always be the better athlete but he falls well short with intellect. He simply isn’t operating on the same level as the best QBs in the league. Roman takes some of that blame, but Lamar needs to improve if he wants longevity as a starter.

Lol he's right black. Lamar is no where near Burrow, Mahomes, Allen etc... when it comes to passing. We keep hoping he takes that next step in his throwing but it just hasn't happened and might never will and that's ok. So let's give him some weapons to help him out atleast.
It’s not just arm talent but his ability to control the offense. Half of our games are spent rushing to the line , followed by chaos attempting to get the snap off. On the flip side you see Burrow at the line point at receivers, signaling hot reads, adjusting to the blitz, all while calm and collect.

Again some of this falls on Roman but I’ve always wondered if Lamar has held back Roman as much as Roman has Lamar. I mean Lamar certainly doesn’t strike anyone as intelligent, his wonderlic score sure didnt help either. Wonder if that’s limited the offensive expansion , while also leading to pre play issue becuaee John and Roman can’t give the reins/freedom to Lamar.

That slowness to the line has plagued GRos entire career. That's on him.

Dang Marine you going to tick some people off calling our boy dumb lol. Nah, I know what you mean and Roman is a big part of the problem like you mentioned. Hopefully we get to see Lamar with a new OC before he leaves Baltimore and that will shows us how much was on Roman and how much is on Lamar.
