Lamar Jackson

Was just coming to post this. Not saying it's true but like this is the second time from a different source that people are saying Lamar isn't being totally serious. Not good rumblings even if false
 
These "reports" are interesting because they just don't make a lot of sense. Right now, we've got these reports from Preston, 105.7, and now Banks. The first 2 I couldn't give a shit less about but I do know Banks has some sources.

But regardless of who it's coming from, why would a team that was actively trying to get a contract done leak that he's not committed? Always have to remember that leaks are very intentional from this organization.

Why would he bypass treatment from a top notch NFL staff? I get he is upset withEDC but the Ravens medical staff is probably close to the best money can buy. All in on his recovery efforts. Seems odd

If those reports are true , it’s a no brainer Lamar needs to go this off season. Questionable decision making and leadership qualities we don’t need. Buuuut i have a feeling it’s not legit

I don't really know. If it was just Preston and 105.7, I'd say no, they're not leaking anything. Preston hasn't had a source in the building since a coach (I forget who) was fired a number of years back so now he just throws his opinion into the matter more than he ever did. 105.7 has absolutely nothing. Banks is the only reason I question it because I have a very, very good idea of who his connect is and it would be someone that would know things.

It just doesn't make sense why the organization would leak something like that. That's why I'm confused. If they were that hellbent on ruining his image, they wouldn't have worked their asses off to try to get him signed before the season. Counterproductive. Plus, if this was a true leak, they're not running it through a whole bunch of nobodies either. Only thing would be some low level staffer type but their head would be on a pike if they were found out. The Ravens are very serious about information and keeping it in house.

Yeah I find the whole situation weird. Then you also throw in Skip Bayless. Again I'm not saying anything is or isn't true. But why are so many different people of varying distances away making these comments.
 
Would also be foolish to not mention that Lamar does not have an agent, which is where 99.9% of info comes from. That's long been a source of frustration for media because they can't get any info.

None of this really adds up which leads me to believe it’s complete BS from a radio station in need of some clicks
 
If all of this is true, it's unfortunate but a byproduct of Lamar not having an agent. I get saving the money and having a team you trust, but anyone with half a brain can tell the whole contract situation has been weighing on him. Hasn't been playing with the youthful exuberance that he had early in his career. While I don't blame him for trying to get every penny he can, I think he's been given some bad advice. And it's leading to bad optics, especially with things like this. May be true or may not be true, but it's not a good look and he's the one paying the price for that right now.

Here's the logic going on in my head. It makes no sense for any party other than the reporter for this to come out.

From the FO perspective, it creates bad publicity. If they were looking to move on anyway, this wouldn't help them. If they're looking to keep him, it doesn't mean much but it's just a bad look for the team.

From Lamar's perspective it's obviously bad and doesn't need explanation.

The reporter gets clicks so that makes sense.

And the always important factor... if it was true, you think Schefter and Rapoport aren't running with this? They may not always have the best decision making, but this is something that would be plastered all over the news. You'd have to think there's a reason why only low level people are saying this, and that's because well, they probably don't know a damn thing.
 
Also just listened to that 105.7 clip again and the funny thing coming out of that is the assertion that Lamar should have been back by now. Saying that with literally the only insight of the injury coming from the team. Timetable info isn't getting leaked out.
