Lamar Jackson

So just looking into the injury. Team has stuck to 2-3 weeks, I'm pretty sure, since the beginning. That's a 10-14 day recovery. But the interesting part is the last line here - - -

Recovery from posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury

Recovery from a PCL sprain or tear depends on the severity of the injury. Mild (Grade 1) sprains take ten days to two weeks to heal. Moderate (Grade 2) sprains take three to four weeks to fully recover.

Athletes should work closely with their physician to determine when to return to their sport. Most athletes can return to their sport within eight weeks as long as there are no other complications associated with the injury.

PCL

Just a minor deviation or "other complication" would throw a real wrench into the whole initial 2-3 weeks. But if return to sport is true then I feel mislead.

other guys returned in about 3 weeks earlier in the season, i remember reading around the time

but obviously we've got no details about the injury at all

O boy , going to be a fun couple of weeks for the flock

Maybe Lamar has asked to be traded and we won’t play him in this scenario(not in the playoffs either ) . Maybe that’s why he’s not practicing yet .
I certainly hope not but you never know.

So for me it comes down to risk vs. reward. What do we stand to gain by rushing Lamar back at this point? We have secured a playoff spot. The reward is a home playoff game (IF WE CAN OVERTAKE THE BENGALS). The risk is obvious. If he reinjures the knee we’re one and done in the playoffs, and contract negotions gets really sticky (for him). I really think if he’s not 100%, he should keep his backside planted firmly on the bench. But I suppose that is really the unanswered question. Is he 100% right now?

Yeah, if there is any plan to trade Lamar being put into place it would be smart to just stash him. I don't think that's the idea, but honestly given the lack of deal it wouldn't completely shock me at this point.

Lamar went into Steve Biscotti office. Told him John willing to die on this Greg Roman hill. So he’s only going to sign the extension once Steve fires Harbs and hires a offensive guru *cough* Sean Payton *cough*

That’s why he’s not practicing. Need the narrative to flip so we all realize it’s Lamar carrying this coaching staff, not “HC built this offense for Lamar” nonsense.

Once we get embarrassed by the Steelers and Tiny Hands Pickett on national TV, everyone will see Harbs is mid and Lamar will come back and play.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

If that's what he is doing now then he is dead to me. I don't think he is though.

Lamar and the late season injuries this year and last, have been an enigma. Neither injury looked that serious yet he stays out for what seems to be an inordinate amount of time. Is it because the injuries were more serious than thought? Are they holding him out so he doesn’t get hurt again? Is he refusing to play? Who knows, but what ever it is it’s distracting the team at a critical time, hopefully this gets resolved quickly.

Holding out at this point would seem to be out of character for what seems to be such a humble guy, but who knows what kind of direction/advice he is receiving.

So is Lamar holding out ? I guess we are gonna find out .
One can only speculate at this point. They are being so coy about his injury status you can’t help but think that either a. he’s holding out because he doesn’t want to risk injury and miss playoffs, and possibly muddy up contract negotiations, or b. Both he and the brass have decided to give “Snoop” a shot at winning the division, and have a healthy Lamar for the playoffs. Or maybe C. Start snoop against Steelers. If we win then Lamar rides in on his white horse and beats the shit out of the bengals to win the division, and add some juice to the playoff buzz.

Yeah our humble QB is now also an agent. Who knows what is going on right now?

If his injury isn't too serious, getting back in there and guiding the team thru a Playoff run would make him a more desirable trade chip or FA. But if he has lost confidence in the team and/or himself, playing the delay game to keep himself out of a situation - losing any remaining games he participates in or additional injury - preserves his present value - which can't be viewed as much higher than it was last year given the second leg injury in two years. Who knows.

What I find fascinating is how one of the tightest-lipped organizations in the league has stuff "slip out" at high pressure moments.

until it comes from at least someone like Josina Anderson or the group of NFL insiders (Schefter, Rapsheet, Garofolo, Yates etc.) and it's only Banks who has it then I'm gonna suggest that nothing's really leaked at all lol

when it comes to 105.7 the fan and Mike Preston, it's not really believable.
