Coaching qualities though? Brady’s got ten times the dog in him that Peyton had, Peyton was “my way or the highway” and seemed to put himself on a pedestal above the team, not that he didn’t deserve to and his offensive cast at times called for that, but Brady to me seems like he’d be much better at holding everyone accountable and staying reasonable and grounded as a coach. Peyton seems like he’d be an epic disaster as a coach, it’s just his personality

Bradys mental is far too much for these new guys..his work ethic is also fking insane.. it would be like mj or kobe trying to be a coach for a team.. those dudes might be better suited for private lessons lol

Based on the way he watched film and studied with Bill B, I think he would do fine as an OC should he choose to do it

Well the other aspect that people don't really consider is that, with high-end players, the $ just isn't good enough to coach.

Like if Ed Reed wants to be a DC, he'll need to spend several years as an assistant coach most likely before that happens. A good assistant coach probably makes $500K or less. Is Ed Reed really going to work 60-70 hours a week doing coaching, film study, traveling, etc. for 7-8 months a year for $500K? I doubt it. Guy made $51M in his career. He can make $500K off endorsements or marketing, easily, with like 1% of the work/travel.

Like for these high end guys, its not that they probably couldn't do the job. It's that they'll never make the time commitment to it to be as successful as they should be.

Well when you have made that kinda money it's a lot easier to do things that aren't about the money. I guess it comes down if it's something he really wants to do.

Kind of in relation, but a lot of guys just don't want to do the positional coach thing point blank. Ed did it for a year and literally came out and said it was DC or higher going forward. Juice just isn't worth the squeeze for some of these big names. Easier for them to do media or be the face of something for a lot less work.

considering what he is going to be making as an analyst, I don't see it happening. Then again, you never know.

That being said, he has to retire first!

True, Peyton will probably make ten times on manningcast what he could make going through the coaching circuit

Have you seen the way Brady handles anything going wrong? All the thrown tablets and helmets? The guy would have a stroke trying to manage a whole team.

Sure, but money is only part of it. It's about the time. Those guys spent a decade or more going half the year not seeing their family. They going to do that again?

Coaches put in more hours than players do.

Well he did accept a head coach job this year but for a small school in Florida. So maybe he's only looking at jobs close to home. But it appears he's keen to go down that path.
