Lamar Jackson

I mean its not exactly apples to apples, but:
Seahawks wanted out of the most recent deal they did with Wilson, so they traded him. He had a year left.
Derek Carr was cut 10 months into a 3 year deal.
Ryan Tannehill is likely to be replaced 3 years into a 4 year deal.
Carson Wentz was traded away 18 months into a 4 year extension.
Jared Goff was traded away 15 months into a 4 year extension.

Its certainly not a given that any franchise QB that signs an extension is going to play out the deal with that team. As with anything else, it'll depend on how productive they are.
Those are typical contracts, tho, where there is practical value. Perhaps Mahomes' contract has a similar possibility of practical value because of its length, but ur not going to have that on a 5-6 year deal with a ton guaranteed in that short duration. If the player plays, the player gets the full contract load, so its essentially all guaranteed anyway.

I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at this. LMAO.

But that “Please welcome one of my best friends to Baltimore!” post following that Gon make us all feelin alil bit dangerous!>:D

Sorry if it’s been posted but WTF. That’s some one foot out the door shit. What’s worse is it sounds like the trade comps just aren’t there right now which means he is def playing on the tag and destroying are FA cap room.

You might be misunderstanding. Jeff’s tweet was in response to a tweet saying that the ravens are disrespecting Lamar by not giving him input on the OC decision, Jeff was just debunking that, not implying that Lamar refused to cooperate

I get the feeling that if we tag Lamar in early March with the franchise tag that he will not be a Raven this upcoming season.

I dont think the Ravens will play Lamar on the franchise tag and miss opportunities to sign free agents like Hopkins

I think a trade is becoming more and more likely as we get close to the franchise tag.

Jeff also said earlier this month that it's not Lamar's style to be too involved with coaching and personnel decisions

If he's playing hardball I don't blame him. Rookie deal and even from fans opinion didn't take the position wr seriously early. If you don't do it with the resources why the hell should I worry about when you don't have them? And I get the franchise for saying we have a number we won't cross.

I might have him play on the tag this year and while teams get their qbs. Then load up on picks for the next draft. The media will flood you with contract questions but keep it moving.
