we didn't have a good MLB in 2012, not really, we had a shit left tackle, and our o-line was mid.
 
That defense carried its weight in the post season despite what people try to say. I feel like Ravens fans give the defense less credit than they deserved for the run and casuals give the defense way too much. Farthest from our best but they were clutch and opportunistic.

Sizz was in his prime and absolutely unstoppable. The other defenders he mentioned were north of their respective primes (maybe except for Ngata)

Wilson used a top QB, so he's the best comparison for Lamar. Once QBs attain that status there will always be teams willing to give up serious picks to see if they can make him work. Even Wentz, who only really had one great season, and has an injury history, was traded for a 1 and 3 after his massive decline.

Lamar's status as a player who has been mentioned among the MVP favorites at some point in each of the last 4 seasons, would probably have a trade floor somewhere above Wentz, no matter how badly his performance may slide, provided the Ravens act quickly if/when it happens.

Right, but the point is many of these teams sign these deals with the back of the mind feeling of "how quickly can I get out of this deal if I need to". Buffalo had Allen under contract for 8 years (2021-2028) and could move on after 5 if they really wanted to, and it wouldn't at all cripple the franchise. Technically 4 if they spread it over five years.

Most of these contracts have baked in "outs". The only thing that matters is where the QB performs. Those that do tend to play it out. Those that don't tend to not do so.

Goff will be retained because he had a very good season last year, he's actually owed a reason amount next year (roughly $27M) and his cap hit isn't that big ($31M). I don't see many paths where Tannehill is a Titan next year. Don't see the Titans paying him $27M.

If the player plays well, yes. If they don't, no. At this rate, Murray has no shot of finishing his contract. He'll need to show dramatic injury and performance increases. They might not be able to get out halfway through it, but again, even being able to move on a year from termination saves the Owner tens of millions of dollars. Not something to just ignore.
