Lamar Jackson

if you want to weigh his success early for his defense thats fair but you have to equal out his prime of 14-18 when his defense let him down. it matches out in the end.
Eli manning won 8 total playoff wins, 4 in both of his playoff runs. ben is the most successful qb not named manning or Brady from 2000-2020.
you literally can not tell the story of the NFL without Ben. and if you googled "most superbowl franchise wins", it was a photo of 7 winning his 6th for a decade
I don't care about who the NFL promotes. I've watched the games. Eli did more to earn his 2 rings, both against the boogy man himself.

you do realize he made every single one of those weapons and the steelers aren't just magically a time traveler with the list of the best WRS ever right? Who did the steelers add as a free agent in 20 years vs who left
This is crazy. He made Holmes, Plaxico, AB, Ward, Sanders, Wallace and whoever I missed? They're good at finding wr talent.

its easy to evaluate the type of wr that works with your HOF receiver after you get it right a few times
smaller, smart players who can run around while you extend the play for 1 minute

Victories are not a QB stat anymore than they are a guard stat or a kicker stat.
People need to stop with this BS. Give a mediocre across the board team the greatest guard to ever play in his prime and they're still lucky if they manage a playoff spot. Give them Rodgers, Peyton, or Brady in his prime and they have a real chance of winning their division. QB play is the single biggest decider in long term success of a team.

Qb play makes a huge difference but each case is different obviously.

I think Suggs was better at his position than Ben was at his and don't necessarily think he should be first ballot. Top 10 all time in sacks, forced fumbles and 1st all time tackles for a loss. DPOY and 2 rings.
Suggs will get there. Not sure about first ballot. Apples and oranges comparing them tho. There is no position ever played with more pressure than QB.

Yes silly me wanting a HoF player to at some point be considered the best at their position or even top 3. I guess you would prefer for QBs the HoF be a participation trophy that says you played a long time so we can pretend you belong in the same club as the all time greats.

Sorry I am not lowering the standard because the player is the face of the franchise. If we honestly took what Ben was a QB and extrapolated it to every other position, we would need to triple the size of the induction class to fit all the HoF players we would have to put in. Sorry I kind of agree with Deion's take that there are too many guys in, or going to be, in the Hall who were just good players and maybe even very good but its not the Hall of Very Good.
Okay so exclude one of the greatest qbs of all time because he was one of the top 5 undisputed stalwarts of bar none the most elite 2 decades of qb play in nfc history, but wasn’t good enough to bypass Brady or Peyton.

Arbitrary. If you gotta be top 3 in a position across an era to make the HOF, then all adreme has to do when he doesn’t like #3 is to move the goalposts to say only the top 2 make the HOF. See how that works? That’s why YOUR measures don’t mean dick to anyone but you.
