The Pass Rush

Bengals pass was too quick for any real pressure to develop. We need couple dudes who can consistently rush inside. Can't wait for Henry to come back.
Not every single pass was 3 step and release, our guys weren’t looking good regardless, not fast off the snap, not threatening any edge regardless of the drop depth, Suggs and judon just looked slow and weak on most snaps.

Are you saying our pass rush vs the Bengals was good?
Yes. It wasn't as good as the Bengals' but it was more than good enough to disturb the offense. Around 50% ATS as a recall, with mostly 4 men rush, and a good amount of batted passes.
No, no one had a particularly good game, but the collective effort was sufficient to have guys in Dalton's face.

Second half, just OK. First half? nuthin’.

1st half was bad because there was no time to get home, because Dalton had his reads open in the middle because:
1)Mosley was hurt
2) Wink was blitzing

Then in the 2nd Wink stopped the blitz and put more men underneath and Dalton couldn't complete a pass

Those two things certainly occurred and may have contributed, but they got outplayed on the line as well.

That’s what I’m saying. Our edge rushers were slow off the line every goddamn time and dalton could’ve hung around for 5 seconds per snap and we still weren’t gonna get home. They were rushing with concrete shoes.

The pass rush was pathetic last week! Horrendous and unacceptable! Suggs is long in the tooth but we have younger cats that should be getting home. Pathetic! So, let's see what happens Sunday. I think I already know.....

If there’s such a big gap between the RG and RT why does Tim not try to go inside anyway. He doesn’t need 5 snaps in a row to beat one of the worst freaking T’s in the league.
Hard to beat even the worst one if he pushes hard on your facemask every time and the refs can't be bothered to do anything about it.

I asked @JoeyFlex5 to check out Some Tim Williams vs. bengals and he was kind enough to do so. thanks @JoeyFlex5

Yee boi glad to do it. I’ll get to those other ones when I get a chance

blatant and violent hands to the face that should’ve been flagged twice.

And secondly, you can’t pick up on tendencies when you’re getting 5-10 legit pass rush snaps all well spaced out. Getting consecutive snaps will allow Tim to literally bait the tackle, show a hint on one play to speed rush, next snap he shows that same hint but when the tackle overextends he shoots back inside. You can’t pick up on tendencies and bait tackles if you aren’t able to chain together snaps.

Yeah that was ridiculous, but doesn’t explain why he didn’t try to go inside.
That huge gap isn't there to start the play with, it only shows after RT follows Timmy outside and their interior blocks the other way. By then, it's too late for TW, he's too far out AND fouled on the play.

I hope our pass rush gets a fair chance next game, too.
I know it won't happen, though. They'll again let them hold all day.
Yup. I don’t understand how 2 teams in the league specifically can get away with an absurd amount of holding. The broncos were holding REALLY bad today, but if that was the Steelers there might not have been a single flag.

People can say what they want about blaming refs, or refs being biased, the simple fact is that the Steelers and patriots get away with holding. Holding happens on every play but only to an extent, these 2 blatantly hold consistently and it just doesn’t get called
