In an update, Schefter reports Smith suffered a compound fracture, surgeons discovered Smith suffered a spiral fracture in his leg. Which is defined as a long bone broken by rotational force. He now faces a lengthy rehab process to return.

To the exact day, pretty weird. That was one of two skins games I’ve been to, brother of a girl I was dating at the time took me. It was an eerrie atmosphere when it happened, almost surreal.

Bucs placed TE O.J. Howard on injured reserve with foot and ankle injuries, ending his season.
Howard suffered both injuries on the same play late in Sunday's loss to the Giants. It's the second-straight season the No. 19 overall pick of last year's draft will end on injured reserve. Howard was also felled by his ankle as a rookie. Howard was in the midst of a genuine breakout campaign, turning 34 catches into 565 yards (16.6 YPC) and five touchdowns. He cleared 50 yards in 8-of-10 healthy appearances. Still only 24, Howard will be a TE1 pick in next year's drafts. As for 2018, Cameron Brate is now a must add in all formats and will be in the TE1 mix from here on out.

damn he was really looking like a probowl level tight end this year
not sure why cameron brate was ever neglected in this offence but heyho - they could legit have the best tight end duo in the league but only seem to be able to use one at a time
