The 2023 Offseason Thread

I think with Slowik people just see he has some hand in the 49ers passing offense and people want that same system. But it does worry me that he isn't experience and might not be able to make an offense like Shanahan.

I know Reid tends to help his coaches take on more responsibility and sets them up for promotions so I would love to poach one of his guys. Or the Eagles QB coach, Brian Johnson. He has experience working with dual threat QBs, and has play calling experience (at the college level).
Yes, I will admit the Shanahan coaching tree is rather iffy.

I just went back and listened to the first part of presser (actually the part I missed) and there was a question from Hensley to Both EDC and Harbaugh about a comment they had made a year ago. Essentially whether they still feel the same about wanting Lamar as their QB for the future. Harbs comment was 100% 200% yes. It was not that he is 200% certain he will be here.
Wow Rappaport lied in his tweet then, I hate that guy

I may be totally biased (I definitely am), but I'm not sure Chuck Clark is a surefire cut unless the Ravens are very in need of cap space. You're saving $3.6M and under $3M when you factor in a replacement.

Given the Ravens are almost assuredly down Marcus Peters, I don't think they'd want to lose a starting strong safety without a clear replacement on the roster.

The reason I don't know if Hamilton is a clear replacement is he struggled early on, and was benched often, for struggles containing over the top, but he absolutely came into his own and really shined as a big SCB and playing in the box.

If you view Hamilton as a SCB/big nickel, you don't have a clear replacement at SS since Stone is also a FA, I believe. If you view Hamilton as your answer at SS, you're placing A LOT of faith in guys like JAD, Stephens, and Williams to step up and fill in two spots. Or relying on a rookie corner, which is far from a guarantee as far as transitions to the pros go.

I just personally see value in keeping him, especially if they get Lamar signed.

Stone is a RFA and would be easier to retain however. Would think you can retain him for lesser than the tender amount, potentially for multiple years.

yep, he helped with Dak and Jalen Hurts

Oh, is he? Well, that might make a difference. You have to figure Chuck's biggest appeal, being the green dot guy, isn't as valuable now that Roquan is here.

I’m not opposed if Chuck stays for what it’s worth. In fact I’d welcome it if the money could be worked out. Green dot or not, he has been a valuable member back there and if I could keep Hamilton in his role, that’s great. Just think Stone is probably more likely but nothing but a pure guess.

Ravens D finished 4th in points allowed. I only recall two “bad” games vs Mia and NE. Gotta think we’re going to be even better now that the younger guys have a year under their belt. Also Ojabo getting a full off season to work out the kinks
