The 2023 Offseason Thread

just seems very familiar numbers

133m fully guaranteed was the number reported in september
235m fully guaranteed is the number watson got...

and then he used the words "could possibly be"

think it's pretty obvious that this is not a new update (or an update at all)
Yet another reason why I would love to fast forward to the start of free agency. This month might feel slow as a result.

I think Lamar is gonna get traded honestly
:(

And what’s with the Ray hate on here? I’d love for that man to be a LBs coach and possibly work himself up

Oh no, please no. Loved Ray as a player but the last thing we need are the distractions that come with that sideshow. lol

Think he'd be a good lb coach. Him working with Roquan can't hurt. He's had plenty greats to learn from and it's been said the way him and Reed watched film was beneficial to the younger guys. I'd trust Ray as a coach more than Reed cause he seemed more technical.

I think people are throwing darts to see what sticks when it comes to Lamar's contract. I highly doubt we are that far apart unless we are seriously low balling him which I can't see us doing either.
I think you nailed it. Seems like more speculation with nothing to back it up

Ray would do well anywhere but I think he would really thrive in college like Prime has. The college kids would be drawn to his passion and leadership. I’d be pumped to play for a guy like him because of the above and he seems very authentic, what you see is what you get.

so bobby engram gets an interview too (apparently has already had his 2nd interview also)
Joe Moorhead, HC of Akron also mentioned as having had a 1st interview at some point too

apparently we did speak to Bobby Slowik but he's either staying with Shanahan or following Demeco Ryans

This is so weird. The Ravens have always loved him but he's never developed a single WR or TE lmao

players loved him
coaches loved him

to be fair he was the TE coach when Mark Andrews ascended to become the guy he is, when Nick Boyle became the best in the NFL blocker that he was, when Ricard (who works with TEs a lot) became what he is

i will say that im not too excited about the prospect of bringing him back as OC given Wisconsin's offence

was not the most riveting offence

Kleiman is literally not a source for anything. He's just a troll that takes what other people say, misconstrues them, and posts for clickbait.

Literally every beat writer trolls this guy daily.

Noooo. Harbaugh just loves a familiar face. What was it about his work with he Ravens receivers that makes them think he's a viable candidate?
Marty 2.0
You don't really think it's just Harbaugh bringing these guys in for interviews. Do you? lol

So you just gonna remember only the part when he was The Ravens wide receiver coach? Not the part when he was The Ravens tight end coach whom was pretty instrumental in Mark Andrews development. I think the last time he was The Ravens tight end coach Mark Andrews had over 1,000 receiving yards which I think was considered a stat that was the best among of all Ravens tight ends.

I honestly think he's just stalling for EB or BJ

i do think it's pretty clear right now that he has significant interest in at least 1 of

EB, Nagy, Johnson, patullo - at least to talk to them - this process has already taken longer than the Kubiak one where he spoke to 30 candidates - he's clearly not in a rush

Yup, and pretty much none of the guys they've shown interest in have taking jobs elsewhere, so its not like the market is dwindling and they have to act fast.

part of it is probably also about what happens with Steichen who's one of the finalists for the Colts HC job it seems
think there's so many teams looking at coaches in the superbowl this year that it's likely nothing happens until after the game and then they'll probably all fall like dominoes
