The 2023 Offseason Thread

We’ll get Bobby Trees and like it

Adam Shefter reporting we are trading Chuck Clark to Jets. I would love a second round pick but that is probably wishful thinking.

We got to convert him into a cat person lol.

Oh hell nah. I could slightly deal with his LeBron and Drake remarks but this just crossed the line

Gotta be some sort of a record. 7 comp picks for the 49ers, including three in the 3rd round alone.

It's that new comp pick rule for minority hirings, that's how they have so many. I can't believe we got shutout of comp picks again, I miss when we would get comp picks every year.

Well if you’re counting S as a hole then you might as well list every position on the roster lol - we need depth at S and the players we bring in there are likely to cost nothing against the cap until rule of 51 ends

Likewise DL - obviously the quality of the group takes a hit if Campbell leaves but remember we get Pierce back and a group of Pierce, Madubuike, Washington and Jones is still ok

RB might just be a case of letting Gus find out how little he’ll get as a free agent and coming back and drafting a day 3 pick and bulking out with veteran minimum vets

WR, CB and OG are the only real serious need positions

EDGE could do with some help, but again, I imagine Houston will be back in July on a 2m deal or something like that - that group could be better but it’s ok
The only real holes on the roster - the only positions where they need to find starters - are at WR and CB. The 1st round pick and the 'big' FA move should be split between these spots.

Everything else is in the positions where it would be nice to have depth category. They can use the later picks, UDFAs and cheap FA signings to shore them up, because it's often the last man in the group they need to add.

- At OG, assuming Zeitler stays and Powers goes, we can hope Cleveland matures into a starter, while knowing that, if he doesn't, Mekari can do a professional job. So they only need to find some depth behind that.

- At Edge, Houston or a similar vet would be nice, but, if not, it's considered a strong group in the draft - a late pick could fill the #4 role with Bowser, Odafe and Ojabo all sliding up a spot.

- At D Line we can have Urban, in addition to the group you listed. They could get by without adding anyone.

- Safety #5 is a late round/UDFA role if I ever saw one.

- They do need to find RB2 and 3, assuming Gus is gone, but they don't need to be a high picks or expensive players. I'd actually prefer if the they went away from the RB committee system and gave the best back 80% of the touches.

It's the last year of Dobbins' rookie contract. Now's the time to get some value from the pick, make him the workhorse and give him all the carries he missed through injury and overuse of an injured/aging Ingram.

Don't blame him, Minnesota Purple isn't a good look on him.

No it is not. Don't want him. But you gotta love division rivals. Unlike the NBA, rivalries in the NFL are :fire: :flame:. Bears fans, Packers fans, and even Lions fans are clowning them in the replies. Hell, we even have a small representation of Ravens fans there too.
