The 2023 Offseason Thread

Appear to be an inaccurate source. Nobody can claim that the reported offer the Ravens made is a "lowball offer".

Just because its not a blank check offer or meets whatever arbitrary expectations Lamar has doesn't make it a lowball offer.
I posted it because it's strange that every is asserting shit like this. Only Lamar and EDC know

Sounds like some other restructures have already been made but not yet leaked

Im sure they are clearing more than the required 9 mil. In case someone tries some crazy offer sheet for Lamar with numbers we can’t match this year

If Tua wasn't one pillow fight from another concussion I wouldn't give this a thought but you have to wonder. They could be trying the all in approach but when simple tackles are frying his brain you have to wonder.
There is no way they think Tua is the answer. Feels morally wrong to let that man touch a football field

Whatever he is willing to accept
Lamar is coming back to Baltimore on a discounted rate . Guaranteed he has an agent by week 1 and gets a huge pay day next year

This would make a lot of sense at this point. Play well, and play an entire year including the tournament, go from there allowing an agent to bend the Ravens FO over. Earn it!

I can see this blowing up in the team and Lamar's face(temporarily). There's no way in hell I see him showing up for camp. He most likely doesn't sign until he has to. I see the team getting lowball offers and the potential of him leaving while other teams potentially wait for his FA. But... who knows.

Maybe, but that would just make a dumb move dumber. Realize you screwed up, and get to work.

There's other reports from other places from "executives on other teams" that said the public would be "shocked" to find out the kinds of deals we've offered that Lamar has rejected. Basically saying "yeah, the Ravens offers have been legit" and that Lamar is just entrenched.

Totally! There's been multiple reports you could go to to fit any possible narrative you could want.

My guess is Lamar is getting bad advice from NFLPA, Eric isn't playing that game, the relationship is souring because of it, and that's where we're at.

Well and also its pretty clear the Ravens have the pulse of the league and understand the mechanics of the situation.

The logistics and complexity of another team putting in an offer sheet is brutally risky for that team. Not nearly as clear cut as the public thinks. Public just thinks "well why don't you just offer him $ and give up the picks". Doesn't work that way at all.

And they used the 5th year option. Really doesn't mean much at this point but saves them money instead of the tag.
Maybe i spoke to soon , i still can’t believe they think he is the long term answer

Well Gus coming back is a bit surprising. Must have been a very team friendly restructure
