The 2023 Offseason Thread

Our defense is still being slept on. I’m not writing off oweh yet, we got a lot of young bulls up front that should be taking a step forward, roquan smith and PQ is a crazy LB tandem and adding the likes of tyus bowser, Kyle hamilton, and potentially Adrian Amos and Trenton Simpson, and you have a CRAZY collection of off-ball players who can cover and play the run and rush the passer from a 2 point stance. It’s not a deep unit but I think we’re gonna add a vet or two that make a big difference by just keeping less experienced guys on a pitch count.

I want Amos and Houston so bad. Don't see how the financials work out on that, but it would be crazy

You’ve summoned mili, it’s only a matter of time before he responds to this.

But I’m not expecting anything crazy from oweh, I think he’s gonna be a dominant run defender and a disruptive player in general, but I can’t expect much from him, he might not be a high end nfl level starter and I really can’t tell yet, but I do think he will be serviceable just because he has a baseline of being able to hawk down anyone and physically dominate at the front

he was much better when Bowser came back, but still not great. I'm hoping Dr. Rush can help him out.

He’s fine - had a down sophomore year where he under-produced with some tough circumstances early and came on late in a slightly altered role

Maybe he won’t hit the ceiling that had everyone excited but I doubt his career is gonna be his 2022 season on repeat

That’s exactly what I’m saying, I think he’s a starter, but I dont think he’s this no ceilings kinda player we expected due to his athleticism, I think more likely is that his athleticism allows him to play well despite lacking things like bend and timing and disengage technique
