2023 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

I'd even argue that a used-correctly Duvernay is better than Mooney, but that's just my opinion.

@Truth I know you study players ad nauseum, so what do you think about that?

My proudest moment last year was identifying Pacheco as my #3 RB on my board in the draft (after Hall and Walker, the latter of which I took with the Jags). I was targeting him with the Giants the whole draft. You can ask @RavensMania , I wouldn't shut up about him. I kept telling @Truth to take a look too after I took him.

That you did. All the credit to you. The RB draft class was monstrously deep last year. A guy like Tyler Allgeier going in the 5th and Pacheco in the 7th epitomize it.

Braxton Jones should have never made it to the 5th in real life last year. Was one of my favorites and a certified day 2 pick to me.

Had a damn good season too. I didn't discover him until the Senior Bowl.

Thing with Braxton was that I already have my LT, and he didn't do so well at RT in college. Some players can't play both sides. And I wanted/needed picks so I can participate with you guys in the draft. I'm not worried about losing Jenkins/Jones because I have plans and my left side from C on down to LT is solidified.

I honestly don't care about losing some players, I just want to have the most fun I can. And being able to draft is probably even more fun than FA's. But I do have plans to make up for what I did lose.

Just saw this. So I personally have Mooney over Duvernay. But that's based on what you're looking for. I've always found Duvernay a bit too tight-hipped, and it limits his potential as an outside WR. But he's more versatile that Mooney.

That is correct. We definitely wanted him with our 2nd first round pick. I was onboard with either Creed Humphrey or Teven Jenkins with one of the picks and Bateman with the other.

Exactly. Would've gotten either an outstanding guard or an elite center.

I think that's where there is thankfully a distinction between how we'd actually handle the teams long-term, and the flexibility of this being a single-year process. You're able to tailor it to your own desires, i.e. focusing on your favorite upcoming draftees, hoarding picks, trading most of them away, etc. It doesn't necessarily reflect how our strategies if we had each team for years to come.
