2023 Forum Mock: Discussion Thread

I know I greatly overpaid and didn’t really need him, but taking over a team so late, I figured it was a no brainer to go all out for basically the last impact player left in Austin Ekeler.

nice pickup. Had him in fantasy the last couple years and he was essential to my team and why I tried to go after him. Got a nice consolation prize with Joe Mixon for 3 stars

Perfect complement to Travis Etienne, whom I've been very high on since his college days. I normally view these overpays as one-year deals, or just super front-loaded contracts.

After a lot of research on the top QB's in this draft class, I finally settled on the one who I believe is going to have a very good career.

Bryce Young has "it". He throws with touch and anticipation, calls the signals, is excellent under pressure, resets his feet, throws with accuracy and always has two hands on the ball when under pressure in the pocket. Welcome to Detroit, Bryce Young...

And he’s also 5’10”, 190 on a good day soaking wet. Better have a dominant OL so he doesn’t break in half

Really wanted Will Anderson Jr. but more than happy to settle for Tyree Wilson who presents quite a bit of upside although is a higher risk. Just so many tools he brings to the table and he can learn a bit to start under the likes of Markus Golden, Frank, Clark, and Zach Allen. My 4 man nickel front would be Clark, Allen, Ioanniddis, and Wilson which should be threatening

tbh that screws over my draft strategy. Listening to offers for 1.7

Yay brycie

Really happy with Will Anderson Jr.
From the top players in this years Draft he is by far my favorite. He had some very good pass rushing stats and production, yet I think this is his worst trait and it may not translate to the NFL quite as well. But when you turn the tape on boy oh boy it is absolutely impossible to run to his side. He may very well be the best run defender I've seen coming out in recent memory.
If he can get close to double digits in the NFL he will be an absolute elite level Edge Player.
Also him starting as a true freshman under Saban says so much about him as a player in my opinion, especially with what Saban values. He actually is the first true freshman LB to start under Saban. Fitzpatrick and Surtain II are the last true freshman to start at Alabama I believe and they so far seem to have rather nice pro careers.

I was hoping he'd fall to me...

I love Tyree aswell. He is a phenomenal prospect and a terrific athlete especially for his size.
He may very well be the best edge defender coming out of this draft as I think his pass rush translates better than that of Anderson Jr.
Still rather raw in run defense and struggles with pad level occasionally, but his pass rushing skills will for sure translate in my opinion

he's currently 5'10.5 and 204. not worried about his height and since he officially weighed in at over 200 and going into an nfl weight room i'm cool with that.

he currently has had adds over 90 in the sec at that weight and height.
