(Never) Too Early Prospect Watch

Quenton Nelson is possibly my favorite player in the draft, he straight up kills people. Reminds me of Logan Mankins. The only problem is this draft reminds me of 2011 talent wise. First round wise, it's probably the second best in the last 10 years. Between the qbs, running backs and receivers, it makes drafting a lineman tough in the first compared to second

I'm just curious what you think of the line when Lewis yanda and goose come back. Do you mind Jensen at center? I think the line goes from awful to around 8-12th in the league with those guys
I like Jensen at center, but feel Lewis would be much better as a right tackle, He's not a bad oassnblocker, but pretty awful as a run blocker. Hurst is also better as a backup swing tackle, I don't like him as a guard at all. I like Nelson also and would love it if we drafted him. We may have the opportunity.

I believe once we improve our offensive line the offense will get better, as long as we have a better offensive coordinator than Mornhinweg and a qb coach.

Hard to say where we would rank in 2018 when other teams would be able to improve as well. I'd like to see the Ravens go after Norwell. Believe he fits here to a tee.

He can move within the pocket though and has toughness. We do need an elite oline anyway. But Falk looks good. I do think if we keep it up and do somehow go 2-14, then we should just stay put and take Rosen
If we are THAT bad and pass on Rosen I'm done with Ozzie. Always been his and joes biggest defenders but shit teams don't get a chance at a fast rebuild often.

And btw I don't actually think we go 2-14. I think joes back is still an issue, and if Collins works out his fumbling issue and gains harbaughs trust then he could make a big difference with 20 carries a game. So if joes back works itself out and he gets comfortable again we could see a late turnaround, so I think 2-14 is ridiculous. But I could see 6-10 with like 3 of those 4 more wins coming in the last 2 months of the season

I could see this happening as well and I do agree, Joe is still having back issues.

We should just give up all our picks for Barkley....im not even kidding. This guy can make any bad oline look good. He'll give us some dynamic to our offense and a go to guy. Something we havent had in 5 years

In the past 5 years the ONLY early picks spent on offensive players have been Stanley, Perriman, Williams and Gillmore. That's it. Not one offensive lineman. It couldn't be simpler trying to figure out what wrong with the offense.

TBH maybe not with how he's played this season. I understand he's decent but top 6 in that draft? Makes that week 16 Pittsburg pick hurt a lot more when you realize we would have had zeke, bosa, or Ramsey instead.
I know that we need a tackle, but it doesn't matter much when you see our line this year. Also I really wanted Michael Thomas or Noah Spence in the second. That hurts

Stanley hasn't been himself as a pass blocker(albeit he hasn't been a liability either), and he's been improving week to week. However, whether because of Roman or not, his run blocking has improved and he was a pretty good one beforehand. Even if he's having a sophomore slump of sorts: I ain't worried. CJ Mosley went through the same thing and had a stellar season last year. He's had two consecutive "meh" games. But I'm not worried about Stanley. I'd still take him over several left tackles in the NFL and he's not a liability.

Not to mention Stanley is also coming off of an injury, and a lot of his game is predicated off of high football IQ , sound technical ability, and good feet. Ask anybody here: I loved the pick when we made it and for a good reason. He's one of the safest prospect I've ever scouted at the LT position. His floor is an above average NFL LT and he's proven to be better than that even with his recent struggles(and they're not really struggles). Not only do I have little doubt that he returns to form soon, but he'll be a top 5 LT in no time. He's needed to put on some muscle and he's done so. Even if it's incremental.

Stanley is a future all pro. Little doubt in my mind.

I hope he turns out that good and in reflection we probably should have taken him, even looking back now. It is very difficult watching the three guys before him 1, lead the league in rushing, 2, be the best corner in the league the last 8ish games, and 3, average close to a sack a game and win dpoy even after missing 4 games. Stanley is good but ughh we need a playmaker

Oline isn't sexy but football is won in the trenches. I would've liked any of those guys... but Stanley was still a very good pick. Not like we got the runt.

We have some playmakers. Just no Oline or good QB play to capitalize.

Question to all: if Quenton Nelson is unavailable, who should we pick in the first round (trade back not an option)
