I'm contesting the idea that MVP means you're considered a top 3-4 quarterback. Like you said- it's the top quarterback on a winning team. Plenty of really great quarterback seasons get passed over for MVP consideration because of poor records.

Steve McNair in 2003 is probably the last time I could argue a top 3-4 QB did not win MVP. Some players bodies gave out on them early (like Cam) but I cant see the last time it wasnt a top 3-4 QB in the past 20 years.
