The 2024 Offseason Thread

A part of me was hoping that we were going to play cincy week 1 and KC week 2 but whatever we will just have to kick KCs ass week 1 to show the NFL which team SHOULD have been in the superbowl

Is the AFC title on the line in this game? NO! It's week 1. So, stop saying that it is a 'rematch'. Damn! :brickwall:

Yeah, I'm venting cause I'm still salty about that b.s. loss to these bums at "The Bank" a few months ago. Pissed! :swear:

Of course, but as a fan, don't you want to keep him for as little as possible?
He was gonna reset the market no matter what. By the time he’s due the safety market will likely level out and it’ll only end up a few mil more than what it would’ve been. It’s not like we can expect every safety to keep upping the ante between now and then

correct and this is year three so it's possible we try and extend him in the 2025 offseason

I'll (surprisingly) go against the grain and say yes.

These players, generally, won't accept significantly smaller contracts and the NFLPA would never be okay with that, but I want what benefits the Ravens to happen.

These players will be making generational, life changing money that I'd be willing to bet none of us will ever see regardless if they take a pay cut or not.

We might hit a game check.

Funny-ish story, but I remember when Tony Jefferson was moving, he said he found a game check under his couch. It was a pleasant surprise.

I wish I could be in a comfortable enough position where I could lose hundreds of thousands of dollars and just be okay with that.

So they actually recieve cheques (sorry, checks in American)? Isn't that incredibly old-fashioned for a huge org. like the Ravens?

I'm not sure I've even seen a check in 15 years - I've certainly not had a check book since my first and only in the mid-90s.

I don’t think nfl players have anything like direct deposit, paper checks might be the simplest way to avoid paying fees for electronic transfers.
