End of the Bar Does Not Care, John Harbaugh

It’s the most damning issue for Harbaugh 100%. We’ve never put it together. It’s certainly on coaching but I wonder why? The most immediate and logical answer would be that his message has become stale.

The odd part is this team seems to have expected to pick up where we left off last year. It’s very weird because I wouldn’t expect that from Harbaugh. I don’t know who set those expectations nor do I know where they reside (whether players, coaches or everyone in the building) but they overestimated their team, preparation, and fell completely flat
Strictly opinion, but I think his old school style doesn’t exactly mesh with this new era of kids. I don’t think the “be the bully” approach resonates with the next group of stars in the league.

Detroit may be the lone exception to that, but they also have a type and embrace being the island of misfit toys.

Just talking heads being talking heads. Nothing more than that.
I figured, or Harbaugh's agent working overtime trying to deflect blame to Lamar lol. Like Lamar is the one telling Derrick not to play anymore lol.

You can elaborate on this, and I'm sure it's stupid hot take stuff but Colin Cowherd is talking about us and the headline is... "Report: Clear Harbaugh has Become Tired of Jackson." Like wtf? Where does a report like that come from?
That reporting was based on an article published in the Baltimore Sun. There was a lot more to it than "...tired of Jackson." I think it's a Preston article, and it's behind the pay wall. The stuff discussed is reruns of the rumors floating around at LJ contract time part 1.

Of course it comes from that clown and the bigger clown (Nick Wright) is co-signing it.

It is a Preston article in the Sun. And there's another in the Daily Mail about trading him to the Raiders... Sounds like speculation, but Mikey seems to be getting back to that issue from a few years ago about Lamar not wanting to play if he's beaten up and suggesting that Ray Lewis, Rod Woodson, and Shannon Sharpe need to talk to him about off the field prep and conditioning so he can make it thru a season. He also harps on Lamar being so expensive as to inhibit decent OLine play because there's no money to get better talent.

They can all fuck off.

Healthy Lamar is a 40-4 quarterback, with that same O line. He doesn't need five HOF linemen It's on John and his coaching staff not being able to improve the players by what they are supposed to do - coaching.

I agree. I don't think you trade proven players. For me this is more fuel to change the coaching staff.
From the article:
"Meanwhile, the Ravens should explore all options. It’s clear that coach John Harbaugh has become tired of Jackson, even though he builds him up after every game. He has to, or Jackson will go into his own self-exile."

I think it's likely the reverse, that the players are sick of John and have become lethargic and nonchalant about prep and play because of the same tired BS.

Lamar has some bad habits. It’s pretty well known.

But there’s a reason Preston wasn’t spouting this same shit last year.
Care to elaborate a little more into that?

I'd imagine an article like this in a year where Lamar was looking like a back to back POY would have gone over like a lead balloon.

Just Lamar being Lamar. Not easy to work with him and his camp from the business side of things. Doesn’t exactly eat the best or put in the extra work all the time inside the building. Nothing “bad” per se but it’s a very unique relationship with the team.

If anything Lamar should spend the summer with Henry, and learn how to stay that healthy despite taking a beating.

Could really be wrong with this take but I dont think Harbs coaches in the NFL again of he gets fired here.

The options are:

A garbage team wants Harbs to fix the culture. I think Harbs has said he didn't want to be a part of a rebuild in Baltimore. I think he declines those offers.

An on the cusp team reaches out to Harbs to put them over the hump. I just simply dont think teams in that situation would actually call him after what he's done here.

Elite teams are not changing their coaches.

If he gets fired, I think he enters the FO or coaches college or just retires.
If I am the Giants im definitely hiring John Harbaugh if he's available. There quarterback has similar skill set as Lamar and they have some pretty talented players on their team. Harbaugh coaching staff has helped Lamar win two MVPs and they have had success in the playoffs with him. Its really not a lot hot candidates for head coaching jobs this year and it's probably worse than last year . Its still possible Harbaugh might want to retire if he can't be the ravens head coach any more but at the sametime he's probably ready to move on. Players keep showing up short in the playoffs. Eric Decosta didn't really do a great job this off season acquiring talent and then you got be concerned about Lamar being healthy enough to finish the season. All these things is likely headache and it's probably going to get further crazy with the wait time it's going to take for the ravens to get contract extension done with Lamar.

the old football adage that if you're not getting better, you're getting worse seems to have yet another proof positive from this ravens season

it's mike preston - it's therefore bullshit (without having read a word of it)

This is kinda funny.

Not in a "he is wrong way" but a "he has valid points we are all saying" kind of way.

Definitely has some good arguments.

I guess it'd be more appropriate to put here instead of the random thought thread because this would be relevant to our HC.

Maybe it's me, but I still don't buy the notion that this team never got over the chokejob in week 1.

-Dominated the Browns in week 2. Then we see Beeks go out for basically the season.
-Lions come to town to enact revenge from that beatdown in 2023. Personnel-wise we were at a disadvantage up front.
-Chiefs game had hella injuries, but the whole game fell apart after that dumbass INT. Kinda like the Colts game in 2023.

We weren't as good as 2023 or 2024 up front on either side. Reoccuring meltdowns after simple mistakes that have been rooted well before week 1.

If the Vikings beat the lions today with Max Brosmer at qb I'd be really interested in having Flores as our next HC. I think the hardass attitude he had in Miami would do our players some good and he atleast knows how to scheme up a blitz that gets to the qb
