2025 NFL Draft General Discussion

Shedeur is QB1 in the (weak) class.

I don’t see it with Cam Ward. He’s screaming High bust potential to me

Tbh I don’t see it with either of them

i dont have a day 1 grade on any of the qbs

i have jalen milroe over sanders right now too - the way he runs just feels like he'll have a higher floor

sanders takes so many sacks that are his fault, doesnt have any elite traits either
ward's got a bunch of talent but his mechanics are a nightmare

I feel like I'm at the point where you could argue 7 different guys as QB1 and I'd think that's actually reasonable. No one stands out but I'm not sure any of them flat out suck either.

the community seems to have coalesced around cam ward as the clearcut QB1 in the class

idk that im sold on him and, as you say, QB2-5 seem to be all over the place in all sorts of orders

i think the problem isnt that they dont all flat out suck
it's that none of them are pro-ready and some of their upsides are distinctly limited

Milroe is erratic
Ward has horrible mechanics and really inconsistent decision making
Sanders has poor pocket feel, takes way too many sacks and a long release (and still doesnt have a great arm)
Dart played in a very simple offence, has lazy footwork and his whole throwing motion/delivery feels a bit slow
Leonard has some deep ball accuracy stuff to deal with but more his weakness is just that the offence didnt do much in the intermediate or deep part of the field - but that could be his fault too

Grey zabel is a guy who I could see us taking in R1 with the idea of he is definitely gonna pan out somewhere in a big way and we have a need at whatever that position is.

doesnt fit the profile of a guy we'd normally target on day 1
but i do like him as a prospect

I think I saw DJ say earlier that he feels they're all so scheme dependent. Success is going to be about building around their strengths which is a huge weakness league wide.

especially for the specific franchises they look like they might be drafted by...

Titans, Giants, Browns, Raiders...

At least the browns and giants have coaching staffs that have track records of developing young QBs

also worth noting that the consensus seems to be that there's not 4 top 10 QBs (might barely be 1 tbh) and yet we've got 4 teams in the top 10 with pretty desperate needs

i wonder if the Raiders are a matthew stafford trade team...

but there's no way the giants don't get a QB - this is basically the last chance for this regime to turn it around - schematically I could definitely see Milroe fit there if they can justify taking him that high

How we feeling about Ryan Fitzgerald as Tuck’s replacement?

Well see
But that whole interview was really interesting, especially when he was explaining their modelling

Snippets/reminders that came out of it:
The draft has been EDC’s show since 2004
They’ve had this model since 2013 and it’s obviously become very advanced now

For one: this is prime EDC smoke screen talk, about how they’ve missed on a big X receiver and they’d like to draft one, only for him to double dip at OL and edge

Two: I fucking love Tre Harris as a prospect

i dont even think it's close enough to the actual draft for smokescreens

1st: Tyler Booker
2nd: Tre Harris
3rd: Aireontae Ersery

The best Defense is a good Offense.

My short list of people I'd want late in the 1st is: Mike Green, Nic Scourton, Xavier Watts, Malaki Starks, Nick Emmanwori, Kenneth Grant, Tyler Booker, and Armend Membou.
@Dom McRaven quite a few of these are my #SIIE’s… we’ll discuss privately as we get closer to the draft.
