i just dont get it - everyone who's voting for moore is essentially saying they'd rather a pedophile than a democrat - how can anyone with a child (or without) in good conscience vote for moore?
Doesn’t make sense to me or anyone who really cares.

I can say if I didn’t vote Libertarian I would have voted for Hillary because I didn’t like 45 at all. Yes, I try not to refer to him by name. He doesn’t deserve it. Besides I already live in a state that is heavily democrat and Hillary stood no chance of losing.

That said these are only accusations.
Probably true but accusations none the less.

1 accusation was enough to sink al franken - countless accounts of sexually predatory behaviour towards minors are alleged against moore (i think what is telling is that many republicans have distanced themselves from moore, and a couple have even given the allegations against him apparent credibility saying they are believable, and he himself cant even get his own account straight) - you're right that they are accusations but they are more publicly credible than many awful men who have been sunk by fewer less substantiated claims across multiple industries

ill call 45 by his name because its literally a synonym for fart which feels apt (maybe not strong enough to be honest)

as you all well know by now, i am not american and yet there is something about US politics that makes me so angry (which is such a rare thing for me) - the fact that the alabama senate race is even close let alone the fact that moore will probably win means that Alabama has failed on a moral level and that pisses me off no end

2015 UK General Election deflated me
Brexit made me sad and helpless
2016 US election made me angry and helpless all at once
2017 UK General Election gave me a glimmer of hope
Alabama Senate Race is tearing at any faith i had left in humanity
AP's calling a Doug Jones win. Granted it should have never been close but that's enough to restore at least a little faith in humanity.

All it took was a nationwide Democratic Party push to narrowly defeat a pedophile... Not sure my faith in humanity is in anyway restored but this outcome is a silver lining of sorts

Believe what you want, but this is the only fair way to have everyone pay the same amount. The reason we won’t have a flat tax is because professionals, ie cpas would lose jobs. I feel we could have something similar to a flat tax but still have some amendments to it allowing for the mortgage deductions. That lobby group is huge.

Say what you want, but there are a lot of conservatives who would love a flat tax, besides the rich would end up paying more tax because they wouldn’t have the write offs. That’s another reason why we will never have a flat tax.

Btw, that is not why we got rid of the flat tax. Income tax came into play in 1913. Sure we had taxes prior to then, but I’m talking about the passage of the 16th amendment.
I got curious about how much federal revenue a flat tax would bring so I took a look at the national personal income in 2012 (the most recent year I could find a full figure for while on mobile) and it was about $13 trillion on the nose. 20% of that is $2.6 trillion. The actual tax take that year was $2.45 trillion. A 22% flat tax would have brought in $2.86 trillion and a 22.5% one would bring in $2.95 trillion.

Granted that's a very simplistic analysis and I'd gladly defer to an economics report or something with more sophisticated projections than I'll ever have access to, but if nothing else it's an interesting thought.

loads of write in votes in bama - i have to wonder how many of those write ins were for nick saban...
also crazy that without black women roy moore would be in office - black women were the last bastion saving bama from moral decrepitude

FWIW Frankes accusation came with photos.
Moore's did not. The photos pretty much made it irrefutable.

It is truly sad that our politicians ( both parties ) are lacking moral fiber. Years of the federal government secretly paying off sexual harassment victims with taxpayer money without consequence to the offender is disgusting.

It was telling that Nancy Pelosi supported John Conyers after the charges against him were revealed. Then three days later after the public uproar she calls for his resignation.

Things need to change.

I think a lot were for Sessions as the Republicans did consider moving him to the senate, but Sessions wasn’t giving up his position.

My point is not that franken doesn’t deserve to be gone but that Moore also deserved to be gone

Oh I understand. I was neither accusing nor defending either of them. I was simply stating one has irrefutable evidence and the other has none whatsoever.

Your phrasing here sounds a little like you’re defending one of them...

Absolutely no evidence against Roy Moore except the allegations and only one remains credible and that's the incident with the 14 yr old and credible doesn't mean its factual. You calling him a pedophile is only of your beliefs not one of stone cold fact. Kinda sounds like you dishing out hate speech. I guess you lucky this is the US and not the UK

Personally I'm ok with Moore losing since that seat will return red in a couple of years and the GOP doesn't the need the headache he would've caused since this allegation cant be proven either way and the Dems cant wheeny whine about it. It was actually Repubs that got Jones in anyway since 13% apparantly voted for him and they had low turnouts in the rural areas.

See the new thing for Dems are now going to be sexual allegations since the Trump/Russia collusion is shitting the bed since it was actually Dem/Russia collusion. So good luck with that.

Yes this is a major problem since its both sides of the aisle and this is taxpayer money. Their names should be exposed and they should resign in shame.
