2018 Secondary

Yeah, JuJu or Cooper Krupp in the 2nd would have been nice. I still like Bowser a lot and feel he will be an impact player for us for a long time, but if we drafted juju and then went twill and Lawson in the 3rd. Wow.

Anyway that’s easy for us to say in hindsight. Anyone of us arm chair Gms can make picks once in a while, but doing the work like a real gm and scouting department is much different.
I think a whole bunch of us were clamoring for either Smith Schuster or Cooper Kupp during the mock drafts....

that wouldve been crazy. I see nothing at all in wormely. I have no idea what that pick was about tbh

i mean he's played ok when he's been on the field but he's buried on the depth chart and while i dont normally suggest drafting for need, in this case i wish need was taken into account a little stronger and players at other positions were elevated over him because of our stupid depth at dline

like even after brent urban's injury he's at best 5th on the dline depth chart and we spend less than 50% of the snaps (in most games) with even 3 dlinemen on the field

i was never a cooper kupp fan, was more of a zay jones fan - will put my hands up and say that i look pretty wrong on my favourite out of those two right about now - had juju over both though which makes me feel a little better

If juju was your favorite it negates being wrong about cupp and say lol. To honest cooper was ok but I never thought to much of him. I didn't like say at all. Like yourself I really liked Juju. He was the player in round2 through the process.

i think so many people forget that they dont compartmentalise (mostly) the offseason - the ravens sort of do because eric decosta runs the draft but the number of contracts and players in free agency and at the bottom end of the 53 and 90 man roster that none of us really can manage

maybe we could run a draft and a draft board once in a while but i doubt any of us could do all the other parts of the job

its why i find eric decosta so interesting to listen to come draft time because that's his big thing - his role around draft time is the closest us arm chair gms get to a role in the nfl...

Exactly. Decosta had a really good interview before the season with one of the ravens reported. Yes I know how unusual for them to put on a good interview. He talked about how he used to set up a draft board as a child with his dad. Than into the skins in the early days and then coming to the ravens.

Really good interview. If you haven’t seen it, google it, I’m sure you can find it.

Yes, loved Zach jones as well.

I liked bowser better than juju and was hoping he’d be available in the 3rd round (juju), especially with this deep draft. Unfortunately I don’t see juju doing much in bmore this season, but I totally agree that juju is the type of receiver this offense needs.

His interviews on all platforms are always my favourites for multiple reasons

Thank you, you’re too kind.

cause our Qb is joe flacco! OC is marty! We have history of not developing wrs! Steelers are basically the greatest ever to develop wrs!

To be fair. Joe has played inexcusably bad. But if a receiver can make plays then joe has got them the ball. Even Wallace played his best in years with Joe. If Joe is protected I do believe he would be playing as well for the ravens. Yes Joe is playing like garbage. However we can't go as far as to say he has held WRs back and hurt their career. Because it's not like any receiver has left the ravens and played well anywheres else. The receivers ravens drafted are plain bad. I really like JuJu. I said I woulda been fine with taking him at 16. Big physical good hands. Great athleticism and very very underrated speed and suddenness for a 6'2 220 lb receiver. And he loves to play. It totally sucks seeing him make plays for the steelers. JuJu is No1 caliber WR. He is a bigger stronger version of Allen in SanDiego. He is a receiver ravens shoulda drafted as well. Management knew Joe plays well when protected and has weapons. And plays terrible when not protected and given terrible and over his prime receivers. Yet management chose to go all in on defense. Knowing joe needs good players around him to play

I think all of us knew the offense was going to be this bad. I think the defense has been underperforming as well. Going in we all thought it was going to be a 15 ppg defense. It's sad how much was invested in the defense and they seem worse than last season.

I have no faith in joe flacco. Protected or not he is still a sad qb! At his best he is still inconsistent and make bad reads.

our best chances are probably: ronnie stanley, ryan jensen, brandon williams, cj mosley, jimmy smith, justin tucker, sam koch
It's a popularity contest and nobody talks about a lot of these guys. My best guess is Mosley, JT, and Koch make it. I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy gets jipped again. Nobody talks about him.

Coaches and players also vote and you know damn well they notice Jimmy.

i think ronnie stanley's got a chance because of the injuries to jason peters and tyron smith and joe thomas
i think ryan jensen's got a chance because there's so few good centers in the league
i think jimmy's got a chance because hes been playing so well that he's constantly on the pff graphics and ike's best corners lists
i think brandon williams has got a chance but he'd need to finish some of his pressures and turn them into stats - he's behind donald, cox, hicks, campbell and a few others in popularity probably atm
id be surprised if CJ doesnt get it
