2018 Secondary

I watched tape on Canady during the Forum mock in 2016 and liked him as a cb and feel he has the necessary attributes to be a solid cb as well. I’m going to have to go back and watch more tape on him.

I do remember he was beaten many times for touchdowns in 2014 at Virginia, but improved tremendously in 2015, due to playing with much more discipline.

yeah i saw similar things - i just want to emphasise that he took way too many chances biting down on the short throw and getting beaten by a double move

Stanley Jean-Baptiste was brought up from the practice squad. The Ravens site said that he was "considered one of the best players in the [2014] draft". Was that true? And does anybody have a scouting report on him?

I remember he was compared to Richard Sherman/Brandon Browner coming out of Nebraska. Has great size but things never came together.

Its definitely a bad sign that the Saints cut him a year after drafting him in the 2nd round, but he's only played in 4 games during his rookie year of mostly ST. Maybe 3 years of practice squad work has taught him something though.

i seem to remember him being a huge (physically) high potential corner who was probably drafted a round or 2 too early by my evaluation and has kicked around the league on the fringes of multiple rosters since

i remember those comparisons mainly being because he was a converted wide receiver (in sherman's case) and absolutely enormous at like 6ft 4 (like brandon browner being huge)

Does anyone think Pees could be a candidate for a head coaching vacancy with how well the defense has been this season and last couple of years?

Yep, I wanted ford with the Clark pick as well, if this pick look like a good one for the future.

The Clark selection is a classic Newsome dime pick. He was drafted in the 6th round, same as Nakamura and Williams, which is the high end of capital (draft or dollars) needed for the position. He's a core ST player as well, so his path to being Levine's successor seems pretty clear. I would be surprised if he ever becomes a top back-end player and a little upset if the Ravens don't pursue a playmaking deep safety in the draft.

I don't think Pees is interested in being a HC. Also, she's already one of the oldest coaches in the league at 68. He's more likely to retire soon than to become a HC.

Imagine if we were successful in trading up for lattimore. He’s been a shutdown corner and he’s only a rookie. Sucks to think about

Yeahh, lattimore came with a lot of risk though, he had a lot of injuries and only one year starting. That said, he was the most naturally gifted cb I've ever watched, when it comes to just mirroring the guy in front of you, you either have it or you don't, and lattimore has it in spades, health willing he's gonna be the best corner of this era.

which players would we lose out on though? i like our day 2 picks...
but lattimore is an enticing prospect given how good he is already but he also has an injury history and was just dealing with an ankle for 2 weeks too
