Agreed. We most def need a younger FS and a cvg LB. i honestly dont know why we didnt go after zach brown or bowmanKinda worried about Weddle going forward. Too many holes to fill next year though to worry about saftey. ILB next to CJ needs to be a priorty.
i think we will get a WR in a FA just to be safeI'm not worried about the secondary. Probably should be but Ozzie put together a good group. Not many teams will lose 2/3's of their starting cbs and do well. The biggest loss to really making a run might have been Young. Was never a big fan of the Jefferson move and it's showing why now. Safety early wouldn't surprise me next draft, BUT WE BETTER GODDAM GO OFFENSE.
I really would have strongly considered a trade back and landed Tre White, but at the same time, I was stoked for Humphrey and really wouldn't trade him for White.i guess thats one. We've never ever drafted an LSU guy though, which is pretty bad, taking into account they have had the best success rate in this league for the past 14 years
The way I see it is that if Marlon breaks out as a #1 next season(very possible) and Tavon Young returns to form as a damn good slot CB, all Jimmy has to be is a good #2. I don't think that's too much to ask of the guy even coming off that injury. That said, I am still of the opinion that we should acquire another CB just in case the worst happens.Quenton Nelson could be in play if we finish 8-8. Would probably need to trade up ahead of the bengals who WILL select him if he falls to them.

That could lead to the potential for Weddle and Jefferson to essentially do whatever the fuck they want.
As much as this thread has jinxed us, this secondary could be legit. The actual best case scenario for next season is that
1. Jimmy somehow returns to form immediately coming off the achilles.
2. Marlon develops into a #1
3. Young comes back and plays very well.
4. Everyone stays healthy for the whole season
This scenario is obviously unlikely but if it happens we will literally be impossible to throw against in general.
2 and 3 are pretty possible. 4 is most likely not going to happen. Achilles tears are super difficult to predict how well the player will recover. My guess is he sits all of the preseason and practices minimally in training camp. Probably won't know what Jimmy smith we're getting until week 5.The way I see it is that if Marlon breaks out as a #1 next season(very possible) and Tavon Young returns to form as a damn good slot CB, all Jimmy has to be is a good #2. I agreeCan we delete this thread from existence? Please?
Or at least add “Far From The” to the title. Can we delete this thread from existence? Please?
*kills self*@JoeyFlex5 needs to pay for Jimmy’s Achilles injury and Tavon’s ACL. It’s clearly his fault

As a guy who thinks that Marlon is going to be a #1 corner sooner rather than later...posting this here for good measure:

looks like the lions game was the aberration not the rest of the season
Hasn’t ford been on IR all season or am I thinking of someone else?I'm the opposite, I never saw it with hodges but I remember you raving about him, meanwhile I was adamant that Ford was gonna be good, I don't understand his struggles, he appeared to have great sharpness to his route tree despite not being asked to run many routes, and he seemed to have good enough speed and hands.
