WK1 Xavier Worthy/Rashee Rice and Chris Jones
WK2 Davante Adams and Max Crosby
WK3 Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons

We just don't have a guy on either side of the ball that are at those levels. Obviously Worthy/Rice is the weakest name of the entire group.

I was watching ESPN and Ryan Clark was saying (and rightfully so) if your playing defense against us, who are you scared of in the passing game? There's no fear of getting beat deep so you just can play to take away the short to intermediate game. Ultimately you have to worry about Lamar and that's it. We've not shown we can use Henry in any reliable way.

On defense, we have a ton of "names" and huge sums of money but across 2 games there's nearly nothing to feel super good about. The brightest spot is ironically pass rush. But they can't win every time and now we're seeing things like lock down 2023 Stephens is getting brutalized in 1 on 1s. Not super surprising but it would be cool if he kept up his elite play. But way more importantly, we're seeing guys like Jakobi fucking Meyers take Marlons lunch money on 3rd downs. Like come on man.

I was particularly harsh on MM but while he was here you could see Roquan making a huge impact. You could see Hamilton making a huge impact. Madabuike went nuts. Now it's Oweh has flashed in 1 game and Travis Jones is doing well on some dirty work.

This just feels all around like a muted or nerffed version of the 2023 Ravens.

You answered your own question defensively…

Madubuike
Roquan
Hamilton

And hopefully we’re adding oweh and Travis jones to the list this year too

And idk that rice/worthy’s the kind of argument you wanna make… kelce’s the best weapon in that offence, worthy scored 2 TDs on a bust and a reverse - if you’re gonna talk about him and rice then zay’s easily our equivalent on offence

At this point in their careers it’s pretty easy for me to say the Andrews/Likely combo is more dangerous than Kelce.

Given that Ben Powers was basically doing the same thing as Ben Cleveland was doing before he eventually won the left guard position I think Harbaugh assessment of Cleveland wasn't limited. Powers was practicing at center and he wasn't even mentioned as being in the completion at all at left guard position that year but somehow he won the left guard position anyway.

He showed Harbaugh he was the better candidate for the job. Even though I feel like Cleveland is the better candidate for the right guard job it doesn't matter if he didn't seem to show it to the coaching staff regardless of what position he was practicing at . Maybe the coaching staff wanted to see him show more hungar to start or more drive to be better but he didn't. Maybe Faalele worked more harder than Cleveland did . Maybe when Cleveland and others went home Faalele stayed to keep working on his craft as a guard . Stuff like that impress the coaching staff
It's not more complicated than Harbs is making an example out of him

I just used Rice/Worthy to keep with the WRs. I agree Zay is their level. But they're a huge tier below the other WRs. All 3 of them.

We have the talent on defense but thus far they don't seem to be doing what they were last year. They're good players. Really good players. So if they're not killing it, it's something about the play calling or the situational positions of the game.

I believe the defense has a better chance of getting right than our offense does

This is damning. Faalele is good against bull rushers but against guys with quick feet who can use swim moves and get outside of him...he struggles bad. I think you need Ben Cleveland in there ASAP. Faalele just isn't a fit at Guard and i'm not sure that he will ever be a quality starter.

The difference, to me, is that the Cowboys are playing this game at home (again) in Jerry's World. So, I doubt they will go out like chumps as they did last week against the Saints. The Ravens will have an uphill climb to avoid being 0-3.
I thought we played well on the road last year and well again in KC this year. Boys might feel leas pressure on the road

Kinda crazy to think are season could be over by Sunday if we don't win this.… wild

They could be a great dynamic duo if we properly scheme them together. That remains to be seen...

Yeah, since it's only going to get harder after them. After the Cowboys the team has to play the Bills, Bengals, Commies, and Buccs. The Commies should be a win, but we could end up 1-7 through the first half of the season without some real adjustments.

we've been got by a few deep balls by Davante with good coverage (and a couple of bogus DPI calls)
we had 2 coverage busts in week 1

there were some worrying completions over the middle in the 2nd half vs the raiders - havent watched the all-22 this week of the defence so no idea what caused those voids but it's probably a combination of some LB and Safety mistakes

and these sorts of things were going wrong at the beginning of Mike Mac's tenure too - it's annoying that we faced the Chiefs in week 1 and then threw this game in week 2 but this defence should get better

I’m not sweating the defense. You can see they are good, they’re just ironing out shit and having a new DC who’s never called plays before will do that.

I feel the same way and Im not sure why Zach hasnt been given the benefit of the doubt here. These things take to to iron out...Alot of doom and gloom for such a small sample size

I know history says it could be over, but with the extra game and expanded tournament I think the chance to still be in it at 0 - 3 or even 0 - 4 is possible. Hopefully we won't need to worry about that scenario. lol

Cleveland was considered a favorite draft pick of John Harbaugh. He probably didn't like at all when Cleveland failed the conditioning test twice or more some years back but I don't think he's making a example out of him. Honestly if he was then he probably wouldn't be active on game day but it's possible he's trying to get more out of Cleveland though. It's possible the coaching staff and front office don't think Cleveland has tap into what he really could be as a player. Maybe they see him as future pro bowler with Marsha Yanda type play but instead he's practicing below that standards. Maybe he doesn't do enough in weight room and hasn't maximized I'm aware of how he played last year but last year was last year. Obvious it didn't matter to the coaching staff

I feel like we win this game 3-3 is almost a given, but hopefully better. The Patriots looked awful and beat the Bengals, I know we lost to the Raiders but Minshew is better than Brisset, Crosby, Adams Bowers are way better than anyone on the Patriots. I don’t see why we can’t win the next 3 games and then some, just need that first win. I think we can beat the Bills at home

I think Zay as a player is better, but doesn't get utilized downfield nearly as much as he should. He is by far the best player with the ball in his hands, but it seems that Monken likes having one player to dump the ball off to on short routes and it's always him. And I guess it makes sense with Likely and Andrews clogging the middle, I think Zay would flourish in a AB type route tree roll, but a lot of the players on the Ravens offense seem to flourish in the same part of the field.
