The Gameplan, the Identity, and Nate Wiggins’ Hands

Oh man the “Allen is still better than Lamar” booty hurt Bills fans are out in full force today
Not just them, I saw on a Charger forum someone finally figured it out and said “how tf did Lamar win MVP with this OC?”. But then a bunch of upset Herbies started making fun of Lamar’s passing yards, they probably shouldn’t look at Herbert’s stats right now

Passing yards are all these idiots go by and their only rebuttal. I tell them to stick to fantasy football

Their perception of passing numbers is going to have them questioning life

It was a 3rd and long and Lamar placed a dot in between 2 defenders along the sideline. Zay got caught making sure his feet were in before looking up for the ball and it just clanked off of his hands.
Lamar's best throw of the game and a NO. 1 receiver comes down with that ball. Jamar Chase would have.

Not that I haven't watched Derrick Henry before... but now that he's here and I see him week to week, that running style is so weird. Does not look like he should be moving as fast as he is. Every step looks labored but if it works, it works.
guess you didn't watch Dickerson back in the 80s, although he was 30 lbs lighter than Henry.

I think early on they didn't really know what to do with Henry and that was the bigger problem. Now that they seem to know how he fits, Ricard's usage makes a lot more sense.
I really struggle with a thought that the entire training camp was not enough to figure out much of that stuff.

Anyone miss Stone, Queen, Clowney? Anyone?
Seem we have a really good system that makes players look a lot better here than they do on other teams and we can replicate performance with new guys.

And Travis Jones is a monster. It is like putting Godzilla out there playing against regular guys.

Most thought the biggest loss was Clowney. I was ready for Simpson to take over and had no problem with Washington getting more reps. Jones is putting together a good season so far. Nice seeing the guys up front taking these steps. If the coverage wasn't a fluke, QBS are in trouble.

I thought it was pretty obvious Jones was going to take a step this season. He was coming on last seas as well. As for Simpson, I'm a bit surprised how well he is doing this early in his first season. If you look at his tape from college, he's a completely different type of linebacker than Queen ever was and was always best rushing the passer than in coverage. He's doing well so far, but having Ro next to you can't hurt.

That being said, Ro has been used a bit differently this season. He's more in coverage than any linebacker in the league and a bit more snaps in 4-3 this year than last year at this point.

A rare instance where I’ll say that getting on the field as a unit helps. Part of the downfall of prioritizing health over figuring that stuff out in preseason.

With the caveat that the game script was massively helpful...

that right side of the OL looked much improved last night - Rosengarten should be the full-time starter at RT from now on for sure and Faalele has done enough in the last 2 games to hold onto his spot

and it must be said that the only reason they didnt have as many true pass sets to worry about was because the run blocking has massively improved

Faalele and RR just need to keep stacking now

I'm hoping the coaching staff feel they've seen enough to just leave the young guys out there on that side

I really wish we did not play the Chiefs in week 1. With their injuries and our O-line starting to get it together with the run game, it would have been nice to play them now!

I'm glad they did. Gave them something to focus on. Also don't like beating up on injured teams.
