I think quite literally no one saw this coming...he’s been a huge reason our defense has been dominant recently.
Wink designed the perfect defense for us this season and took advantage of our amazing CB tandem. That being said, there will be some changes next season. I believe signing Mosley is going to be a must and having Young and Peanut alongside him will 2nd and 3rd year will be great, but we may be moving on from Suggs and Weddle. It would be great if we can get someone who can play FS full time and keep TJ at strong safety where he belongs.

If it would save money we could cut TJ and let Elliot, Levine, and Clark battle for the SS spot.

We should keep giving Suggs one year contracts and he needs to be realistic about $$ figure.
Having said that, I think he has one year left in him with limited snaps, while still being effective.

TJ is still a good player when used as a strong safety. The problem is when he is covering the deep half or 1/3rd of the field. Besides save under 4m and he is better than all those players at this time. Clark is more a rotational player especially since he has a tough time tackling.

the problem is you cant really just specialise as a safety anymore because offences will move pieces to get the matchup they want vs the coverage and put that SS in a weak position to do the things they're good at

Our coaching staff.

Someone in that Harbaugh coaching braintrust had to know that sooner or later some team was going to figure out how to stop this high school offense. I mean high school defenses do it regularly. And when the browns figure it out first (which they did near the end of that game), you had to know that the Chargers, who we played just two weeks prior, would do a little film study. Lol.

I was actually ashamed of our offense yesterday. It was a pitiful thing to have to watch. I felt bad for Lamar who was put into a bad situation prematurely, IMO. I also felt bad for Flacco who had to end his career in Baltimore with his ski hat on, sitting on the bench. He deserved better than that. Harbaugh did the right thing by not putting Joe in yesterday, but he made huge error in judgement by not giving Him his job back when he was cleared to play. We were in a position to get to the playoffs, and who better to have under center then January Joe when the big lights go on? I’m pretty sure Lamar would have handled that with no issues and his psyche would not have taken the beating It did yesterday.
