Deadline is tomorrow 4pm est. I wouldn't tag him if I was DeCosta because they(Ozzie, Pat and EdC) have been trying to work out a deal for more than one year and they are still off roughly 2-3m per.

EDIT: I want to retain Mosley. But they still haven't found common ground. So EdC has another value in mind than CJ's agent.

If he hits the open market the defense is in a LOT of trouble next year. If nothing else tag at least buys a year for other players to be ready to take over.
 
I’m starting to get a bad feeling about cj... I think they see a very mentally inclined LB in Kenny young and think that he can replace Mosley if the price is wrong. I like Kenny young and can certainly understand why they think he’s up to the task(I think he’s a very high IQ player) I don’t like the idea.. this defense likely falls apart without Mosley and this also leaves us looking at ILBs potentially in the first round which is not something we should be doing at this juncture.

i.e. we aint tagging him for edge rusher money which would never have happened
 
I wouldn’t franchise tag him at 15 million. I think he’s worth barely 10 million a year. To be honest he hasn’t gotten better since his rookie year.
 
we've got a week til CJ's agents can negotiate with other teams in the legal tampering window
I fully expect we offered him a league-leading salary - but obviously less than 15m (makes sense)
CJ may want to test the waters and find out that middle linebackers dont get paid 15m and come back to us

the way im pissed is if he goes to another team for 13m a year or less

i still think he's staying

Ravens decline to use franchise tag on C.J. Mosley, per @AdamSchefter. History says Baltimore will still find a way to keep him. In their 24-year history, Ravens have never let a first-round pick who reached multiple Pro Bowls go elsewhere after his rookie deal expired.
 
Deadlines spur action. I wouldn't be shocked at all if a deal is struck hours before the legal tampering period. We seemingly always go to the deadline on deals like this.

brandon williams got signed during the tampering period (or just after free agency opened - cant remember which)
- the same may happen here - let CJ realise the Ravens are offering the best deal - and if we're not then the deal he gets better be huge
 
So the Eagles are not picking up Timmy Jernigan's option for this season making him a free agent. Bring him back at the right price?

I'm confident he'll get a new long term deal. If we are only $2M-$3M apart, would be nice to see if he would take the deal as is with incentives to earn the extra millions we couldn't agree upon.
