The Offseason Thread

The Patriots have released TE Dwayne Allen and we are one of the four teams interested in him. The three other teams include the Lions, Bills and Dolphins.

Makes sense since the interest in Boyle looks to be pretty extreme. Allen is a good blocker, and a cut so he wouldn't factor into the comp pick equation.
 
Eric DeCosta not fucking around. Looks like we're going to let Mosley walk. Some won't agree, but we need the space and have said I don't think he's worth the money. He's trying to clean up what has been a goddam mess since after the SB win. More important pieces coming up that will need deals and money could go to a C. What's more shocking to me is that nothing has been done with Weddle or Jimmy yet, but I guess we'll have to wait until trades can be discussed.

Erase all that if we sign Bell.

We are still trying to get a contract worked out with him, but will not franchise him. I could see a contract being worked out during the legal tampering period. That being said, if he does walk, we will almost definitely get a 3rd round comp pick for him. Of course this would depend on who we sign as well, but his contract will be one of the more expensive ones in free agency.
 
Thanks for your service Mr. Mosley. Good luck with getting paid 16MM/year elsewhere. We'll make do with either Devin, Kenny Young and Onwuasor for now. Younger and faster and way cheaper.

It also means we are going to have to bring Weddle and his football acumen back even if he works at a snail's pace.
 
So if we dont sign mosley we have 49m in cap not counting the 6.5m projected for the draft and before our tenders which we will most likely pit at least a 2nd on pierce and peanut... we should have about 35m to work with not even counting the cap we could clear with jimmy, weddle, and restructuring some.

Ok Eric, whatever you do don't let him get back on the plane to Buffalo.
 
It wouldn’t be smart at all to pay a one dimensional ILB Kuechly/Wagner money (assuming he wants to be the highest paid MLB in the league). I’d rather that money goes to surrounding Lamar with Chiefs-like talent.

Yeah if we got him first, you’d have to believe we have legit interest and plan to make an offer today if everything checks out. Easy sell with how much we use TEs. I doubt it would be anything expensive either, so wouldn’t be shocked at all if he doesn’t make it to Buffalo.
 
Why is a TE our first FA weve made plans with?

This shit makes zero sense lmfao. If we let Mosley walk and then cancel out a fourth round comp pick for ZDS by signing another TE I’ll be annoyed as fuck lol
