Week 8: Lamar, Our Hands, and The Coaching

After reflecting a little bit more, I wonder if Eddie blowing that cover 0 was ever so slightly intentional. We were in dire straights there at the end of the game. Another first down and we get no shot at getting the ball back. Stuck hoping for a missed or blocked FG. So might as well send the house and see if you can knock them out of FG range, or give up the tuddy and give the O the ball back with time to try to make something happen. I might be reaching, but I also don’t hate the play call in hindsight.
I was thinking that at the time. It was the right time to go for an all or nothing playcall. Getting a sack or giving up a TD were both better options than letting them eat more clock.

No 1 offense No 32 defense. You will win nothing in this state unless Lamar plays lights out.
I wonder if this scenario has happened before to any other NFL team ?

Yeah that definitely happened. Week 12 would've been when the defense was playing 3 quarters well and blowing 4th quarter leads. Which is where we got our modern juju about 4th quarter leads. That ended up being the singular issue that MM defenses had that year and being fair there was some bleed over into year 2 albeit way less.

His defensive issues were totally real and pretty separate from Orrs. What i was referring to was the communication issues. That's why I gave you the Miami JAD game because that was literally what was said at that press conference.

I don't know what you think you're doing pulling old records as if it to prove something. Ultimately I feel both takes were legitimate and you have too much time on your hands. Thanks for the laugh though

Ravens defense in 2022 were blowing 4th quarter leads due to miscommunication and the players on defense not executing . You said this only happened against the Dolphins at least to your memory but that's not the case cause the dolphins came back to win the game against the ravens in 2022 similar to how the Jaguars did. In all reality both Zach Orr and Mike MacDonald had their issues as first time coordinators regardless on how we like to dictate on how different their issues were . It's probably just more magnified for Zach Orr cause 2022 Lamar is drastically different from current Lamar in 2024.

Also it should be obvious what I was doing to prove a point by sharing a old post of yours..I'm glad I was able to help make you laugh as i try to be a little entertaining. I think it's strange to say I had too much time on my hands to share a old post or to even do research on the matter especially on a Sunday. Fans share long paragraphs of their assessment or opinion on the team all the time on here. Some goes as far to watch the all 22 film of the game then share what they see on tape from their perspective on here. Some even watch YouTube videos that are more than 10 minutes long then share it on here. But it's considered that I have too much time on my hands to find a old post or old forum that took me less than 2 minutes to find but ok .

I don't think the ravens defense is ranked 32 overall right now . Maybe you talking about their passing defense if so then I 2011 the Patriots went to the playoffs with 31 ranked passing defense

Aren't we the worst in total yards given up ?

We are gonna have to play " Let Lamar take care of it " football all year

I do think it's wild that they just decided that Marcus Williams wasn't going to play
even with everything that's come before and everything happening in-game, and the fact we're down 2 CBs

we don't think that having our starting safety even play a single snap (after consistently playing 100% the previous 7 games) is a reasonable adjustment

it felt like the coaches wanted to make a point to the defence about play level with Ojabo being a healthy scratch and Williams being benched (basically a gameday inactive too)

if you do that, you can't have the resulting play level go down and not expect the locker room to implode...

I might have more thoughts later, but Orr is just not it. He reminds me way too much of Martindale with his inability to actually scheme pressure, but he'll sure as hell send the house and you bet your ass it'll be stonewalled.

i just dont understand why we don't do more stunting and line games upfront
that was literally a staple of our defence the last 2 years

I wouldn’t be shock if it was him coming out and saying this publicly that landed him in Harb’s doghouse.

Harbs that’s egotistical and dumb to bench him for it.. trying to prove a point.

he was already not getting practice reps on wednesday apparently which is well before he said this

Eddie Jackson’s hands covered in baby oil from giving Watson a massage LMAO

Reading comprehension is so bad. I said I remembered AN example vividly. And the one I did remember was right. I didn't even imply that there werent others. I used words like mostly, where mostly is true. They were more towards the beginning of the year compared to the end.

Anyway, whatever guy. For the sake of being done, you're right.

That being saidI think you've got some issues you should work out. And don't waste your time on me.

Navy, Bucs, Ravens all got beat... Hello darkness my old friend....
